A reminder: There is no legal or moral basis for secession. There is also no practical possibility of it. The mere attempt would be ruinous for everyone involved. Why do we persist in indulging this fantasy — especially now, of all times? We have enough trouble on our hands as it is with the Trump administration. Why hand them the tools with which to divide and destroy us?
