Remember that part in #Andor when all those reporters on Ghorman made it sound like the Ghormans were violent and the Empire HAD to send in soldiers to stop things from getting out of hand but in reality the soldiers WANTED things to get out of hand? Yea, that was crazy huh?

West Michigan Friday Night Football is more than just a game—it’s a celebration of community spirit, and the unsung heroes who make it all possible. This week, @BiggbyWMI and The HUGE Show are excited to honor the Jenison High School Marching Band as the Friday Night Heroes! The Jenison High School Marching Band is no stranger to excellence. They’ve been crowned MCBA State Champions for the past three years, and they’re on the path to their fourth consecutive title in November at Ford Field. Nationally, they’ve also made a name for themselves, securing 3rd and 4th place at the Bands of America National Championships in 2022 and 2023. To top it off, the band was selected as one of only ten schools in the country to perform in the prestigious 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last November. youtube.com/watch?v=7qtFZo8r… Under the leadership of David Zamborsky, now in his 23rd year as Director of Bands at Jenison High School, this group of talented students consistently shows what dedication looks like. Zamborsky spoke of the remarkable commitment his students bring to their craft, practicing throughout the summer, on school nights, and over weekends. "These kids give everything they have—not just to the band, but to their academics and other school activities. Many of them graduate at the top of their class and participate in sports, clubs, and other organizations while managing their demanding school and band schedules," Zamborsky said proudly. Their dedication doesn’t just show in their accolades—it shows every Friday night, when they take the field and electrify the crowd. With their powerful performances, they bring the energy and the atmosphere that transforms the game-day experience. The Jenison High School Marching Band truly embodies the spirit of a Friday Night Hero, creating the noise and the vibe that gets the entire community on its feet. BIGGBY COFFEE of West Michigan and The HUGE Show are thrilled to recognize the Jenison High School Marching Band for their tremendous impact both on and off the field. As this week’s winners, all band members will receive a BIGGBY Gift Card and their achievement will be celebrated on The HUGE Show during the Friday Night Heroes segment, airing this Friday at 4:45 PM. BIGGBY COFFEE is dedicated to celebrating community, connection, and the people who make West Michigan special. With delicious drinks and a passion for giving back, BIGGBY COFFEE is proud to partner with The HUGE Show in recognizing the unsung heroes of West Michigan’s high school football scene. CONGRATULATIONS to the Jenison High School Marching Band! I know some Dems are in knots over what to say right now, but I do think it's pretty straightforward: We should oppose political violence in all its forms, whoever it comes from, whoever it targets. We should oppose leaders who condone political violence. We should oppose leaders who encourage political violence. We should oppose leaders who amplify their supporters’ calls for political violence. We should oppose leaders who say that our military and law enforcement should be able to shoot political protesters, or people who may have illegally crossed our border, or people who are merely suspected of breaking the law. We should oppose leaders who’ve sent their armed supporters to scare our political representatives into throwing away our votes. We should oppose leaders who’ve refused to stop political violence even when begged to do so by their own supporters. We should oppose leaders who say that their supporters who've been convicted of committing political violence should be pardoned. We should oppose these leaders because democracy can't survive if political violence becomes acceptable, and the only acceptable way to oppose these leaders is by persuading people to vote against them.

Jenison voters will consider a bond proposal tomorrow that would initiate a modernization of our school buildings. If approved, the proposal would provide $117 million at no tax rate increase for voters for a series of district-wide infrastructure updates. Remember to vote!

For the love Michigan drivers, FIGURE IT OUT!!! 😡
It is zipper merge Monday! The purpose of "zipper merge" is to limit backups in heavy traffic, especially so the backups that do happen don't extend so far back that they impact other interchanges. Backups are more likely to happen when drivers slide over too early, leaving 1/2

I have never, ever seen a takedown like this. Stop what you’re doing and watch.
State Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-OK) has penned several bills loosening gun restrictions, including the nation’s first anti-red flag law. He thinks these bills protect the Second Amendment – and that they make us safer. We think it's probably one or the other. Watch it on @AppleTVPlus.

John Gibbs, the Trump-backed candidate challenging GOP Rep. Peter Meijer, falsely claims there were “mathematically impossible” anomalies in the 2020 results. You may not be surprised to learn that his supposed evidence is laughable non-evidence: cnn.com/2022/06/30/politics/…

In 1869, Congress set the number of Supreme Court justices at 9 to align with the 9 circuit courts at the time. There are now 13 circuit courts.

Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek! Teachers all across Michigan work hard every day to shape the lives of our kids and prepare them for bright futures. I’m committed to supporting them in the same way they support Michigan’s students.

Jenison students need your vote! Tue, May 3, the Jenison community will be asked to vote on renewing our non-homestead millage. This funding is critical for daily operations such as teacher salaries and books. If not renewed we could lose approx. $3.5M in 2022. Vote May 3!

We will not let hate win.
Senator Lana Theis accused me by name of grooming and sexualizing children in an attempt to marginalize me for standing up against her marginalizing the LGBTQ community...in a fundraising email, for herself. Hate wins when people like me stand by and let it happen. I won't.

The most important facts for you to remember today: Less than 0.001% of those fully vaccinated have had a fatal breakthrough case. Less than 0.004% of those fully vaccinated have been hospitalIzed. The vaccines work. The vaccines are your best protection from the virus.
