God damn this fucking thread is legit. Never thought I’d be reading about how Chris O’Leary solved Boddy’s arm pain before he moved on to predicting it in others next to quotes from Naval, Feynman et al
Hey @enosarris, @drivelinekyle said he has other jobs and that the @RedSox were just part time.
Thats what the news story said.
When he tells you what his next job is let me know.
So I can drop another thread and video lol
and you can report the facts🌞

Hola @jcmccaffrey! Do you think it will be reasonable to predict that Kyle Boddy will be fired by the @RedSox ?

.@PitchingNinja, did you know Driveline has never created sustainable velocity in any pitcher that has gone there? Ever.
MVP Ohtani, blows out arm.
CYA Kershaw, low velo and blows out arm.
CYA Lincecum, low velo and out the league.
CYA Greinke, same as Lincecum.

The flip side...the 8 Slowest average four seamer velo among MLB Starters last season:
Zack Greinke 89.5 MPH (not in MLB/Free agent)

Kyle Freeland 88.8 MPH(16.03 ERA)
Rich Hill 88.4 MPH (not in MLB/Free agent)
Corey Kluber 88.2 MPH (not in MLB/retired)
Kyle Hendricks 87.8 MPH (12.08 ERA)
Adam Wainwright 85.7 MPH (not in MLB/retired)
Hey @enosarris, truth always comes to light.
You could've reported on Kyle Boddy after reading my thread.
Instead of being an intellectual coward, write about how Kyle Boddy's methods have harmed kids.
or not, and jump on the bandwagon next year dummy🌞
REEAAAAAAL BAD MAN LOL
Hey @jimfurtado, start with Kyle Boddy.
Ask Kyle, how many kids/amateurs/pros have gone to @DrivelineBB and blown out their arms?
How many haven't improved?
And how many became successful for a month or two and then regress dramatically?
I've asked Kyle countless times.

For what it’s worth, I’m not part of any group or faction working against anyone. I’m approaching this as a lover of the game who wants to understand what actually works in player development. The organizations that have sustained the most success, like the Dodgers, don’t treat analytics and traditional baseball knowledge as opposing sides — they integrate both. Framing the discussion as an either/or competition misses how the best teams actually operate.
You mentioned that Kyle and others from that group have done “a ton that’s historically bad to damage” the game and have “hurt far more than they’ve helped,” including with kids’ attitude, approach, and health. You also said adding velocity to bodies that aren’t ready through certification is “criminal,” and that Kyle had the keys at two organizations and ran them into the ground.
I’d like to see the concrete evidence behind those claims. What specific data, examples, or documented outcomes support the idea that these methods have caused net harm at scale, or that the practices you’re describing are widespread and directly responsible for the problems you mentioned?
These conversations often become extremely polarized, with both sides creating strawman versions of the other’s position. That doesn’t help anyone actually figure out what works and what doesn’t in player development.
I’m also open to looking at any information showing where traditional approaches have done a better job avoiding those same issues. I agree that experienced people in baseball often know what to keep and what to discard from new information — that’s true on both sides.
Broad statements that one group lacks thick skin, openness to debate, or the ability to integrate advanced info don’t move the conversation forward for me. Specific examples and evidence do.
If you have those details, I’m happy to read and discuss them. If not, I’ll stick with looking at the available data on player development, injuries, and organizational results.

Yesterday, my six-year-old son had his first Little League game of the year.
I absolutely kid you not when I say I think at least a third of the parents on the team truly believe their son will one day make the major leagues.

In the past yr, I've tx'ed a 9 yo with a displaced medial epicondylar avulsion fx & a 12 yo with a proximal UCL avulsion requiring UCL repair w IB. In both instances, those are injuries usually seen 4-5 yrs later in development. It's going to be coach pitch in HS in a few yrs 🤷🏻♂️

I’m seeing 12-year-olds with UCL tears!
That’s not bad luck—that’s bad development.

How to get rich as a strength coach/personal trainer…
1. No matter what, claim you played D1 sports somewhere. Maybe bribe a mid major school to put you on their practice roster. Or tell people you got recruited but an injury derailed your career before pre-season so you never played & never got listed on the roster
2. Get as many certs as you can & make sure you list all the initials after your name. The more initials the better. You may not know anything, but people will certainly think you do
3. Get in the best shape possible. Use peptides, deer antler spray. Whatever it takes to get shredded. Abs are very helpful.
4. See point #3. Once you are in good shape, build your entire social media around showing off your physique & how jacked you are. You may be stupid & unable to make a basic program, but kids & parents won’t care. They’ll come train with you because you’re the jacked guy on Instagram who will make them look the same
5. DM every athlete you can find who already trains somewhere else. It’s not their fault that they didn’t hear about you. Honestly, you’re doing them a favor if you poach them from the coach they have gone to for 5 years. They deserve to go to you instead. Tell them how terrible their coach is & that you’ll get them better
6. Any athlete who breathes & commits to a school should be added to your list of accolades. Maybe you only met them once but you certainly should tell everyone they’re committed & got there because of YOU
7. This is where it gets tricky. A good coach must have tech and lots of it. Get a new credit card. Max out your credit line & get the fanciest tech. Force plates, VBT, 1080 sprint. All of it. You won’t know how to use it but you’ll look so smart
It’s not easy, but you can do it. 7 simple steps & you too can be an elite strength & conditioning coach/personal trainer!

What’s crazy is that Henry wouldn’t pay Bregman but paid this bum because some Driveline dork liked how he hit against a machine. Pathetic.
Is he a @DrivelineBB "success" story?

I'm starting to realize that the reason everyone and everything is so polarized is cognitive laziness.
No one wants to question anything if it feels good. People are not interested in facts. They're interested in feelings.
And the internet makes this worse in at least two ways:
1) Every idea that feels good is easily amplified, whether it's true or not. The worst ones, of course, get the most amplification.
2) It's completely eliminated cognitive friction. People just are not used to thinking hard. Now, thinking has always been taxing, but before the internet, you didn't really have a choice. But now, people don't care about sources, or, even worse, they twist they misinterpret the data to fit a narrative. Or hallucinate information that isn't there.
AI is ONLY going to make this worse.
Because imagine a machine giving your hallucinations weight because it's used 80% of its tokens... but you don't even know what a token is, because that takes energy to learn.
So eff it! If the all-knowing AI said it's true, it must be.
