1/9 Current optimizers are static during training. What if the optimizer could think and react while the network trains?
We let an agent watch the training dynamics and rewrite the optimizer's source code as training goes: a reactive optimizer.
In every language and image setting we tried that has no tuned recipe, it matches or beats the best recipe one can one-shot, and it guards against loss spikes and overfitting by itself. In the near future, optimization decisions may belong to agents, not humans.

Greg Brockman on No Priors
Brockman thinks there is an opportunity to end up with a much more secure world. OpenAI moved about 25% of its production engineers onto security, telling them all projects are on hold and they are just securing now. The company turned its peak intelligence model on its own infrastructure to red team it. The team found real issues, fixed them, and saturated what that model could find. The whole exercise repeats with every new model.

how is every school lesson not a opus 5.5 "bottoms up explainer video" i'd literally learn
i can literally learn anything in 20x faster by telling opus "explain this hyper intuitively bottoms up with the most simple step by step animations so i really understand concretely"

New insane game demo I am building for client that will be getting large funding
Check this out!!
Did this for my menus using an optimization loop. AI is really good at it. Also asked it to remove layout shifting or flickering and simulate bad internet connections.
I had a similar reaction. Everyone should applaud performance improvements, but gauge against the “speed of light”, not just a sloppy competitor. If you are measuring in seconds, you may have already anchored yourself incorrectly.
Structure the UI so you can put locally cached media up just a few vblanks after the process launches.
Structure the server so it can return everything necessary for the dynamic UI in one single query that was kicked off in parallel with the Gfx API initialization, branching to a modern transport protocol for large media files.
You should be able to double click on the launcher and have it responsive before your muscle memory can slam the pointer to a location to click on.
