Luffy vs Naruto is not straightforward at all. I'm not a Naruto knower but I know the DB is gonna be crazy
Marathon is supposed to be a PvPvE XTR shooter. Remember that means Player vs Player vs ENVIRONMENT, and yet we don't interact with the environment of Tau Ceti in any meaningful way. There should be alarm triggers you can set off, breakable pipes that can give MCH debuffs, and other ways to manipulate the world around us to add to our playstyles. Right now the only valid playstyle is KILL EVERYBODY.
For example, if you hear a key room chime, instead of thinking "oh sweet, they opened a key room, let's rush it," we should have to think, "is this a decoy? Did they trigger a false chime to lure us? lets scope the scene out, or cut off an escape route and wait" or something like that. Just variations to play go a long way.
Buffing map loot at a base level, and maybe lowering the cost of consumables goes a long way to keeping the rat community alive and fed. Without real rats, every match turns to a slugfest.
Letting Wardens and other mini-bosses roam the map with escorts would be not only fire, but also serve to shake up each individual match, as an unknown element can change the way you approach a situation. Hell, imagine randomly running into a S'pht during a run on Dire Marsh, you'd remember that match forever.
There just needs to be more valid ways to play and be successful in Marathon.
