We’re doubling down on video on 𝕏.
Today, we're piloting Video Kickstart Bonus, an invite-only program that rewards creators for posting their video content here.
A few things to know:
• Videos must be vertical, under 3 minutes, and content you’ve created yourself.
• Videos you’ve already shared on other platforms are eligible, as long as they don’t have watermarks.
• You must post at least 15 videos across 15 different days within the 30-day period of the campaign.
Invites are rolling out over the next few days, and enrollment closes October 30. Happy posting!!

Issue I see often is the agent has no idea how the system is supposed to behave, and thus happily breaks numerous features on its way to adding a new one
It’s a spec issue more than a code quality issue
Its funny how many teams seem to be coming to the same conclusion that unit tests are not very important with agentic coding

We just shipped an updated version of our native video editor -- cleaner, more intuitive, and much easier to use. As a video creator on 𝕏 myself, I’ve been loving it.
We also shipped one of our most requested features: editable captions.
You can now:
• Edit generated captions manually
• Ask Grok to correct them for you
• Tell Grok exactly how you want them changed -- including translating them into another language
Captions are one of the simplest ways to keep people watching, especially when so many people watch video with the sound off. More improvements to the editor coming soon.

The X Android app is now faster and uses less memory than ever before
Hi X Android folks!
If you're on version 12.20+, you're now running the latest iteration of our new Android app. For context: for the last 8 months we were shipping two apps in a single binary, and that introduced some perf overhead. But shipping two apps in one was needed to make the switch to the new experience as smooth as possible for everyone.
With 12.20+ that overhead is gone. We ship a single app, built entirely on the new shiny kotlin + compose codebase.
This resulted in:
• 33% smaller app binary size
• 69% faster app startup
• Got rid of 3.15M lines of code from the OG app
What's next: we hear you on performance. It's our main focus right now - scroll smoothness, battery, networking and memory - and there's more coming.
