This is such a patently disingenuous header.

I just special voted in JHB. It's a huge double-sided ballot. Takes a while navigate. Suggestions:
1) Parties should definitely educate voters about where they are on the ballot
2) Tell friends where to look for your party of choice-for max speed. Turnout will be high. Vote fast

Stand up #Lesotho. Your athlete Kamohelo Mofolo has done remarkably well claiming third place at the 2026 NYC Marathon in a new personal best of 2:06:26.
Incredible 👏💪
The 20-year-old finished 11th at this year's Sanlam Cape Town Marathon with a time of 2:08:05.
People felt touched on the Gucci tender studios, probably while sitting in a swanky hotel somewhere.
Literally no one is saying this. Here in Jozi we’re all too acutely aware of the challenges. Whatever the result, it needs to be better than the current downward spiral.

Breakfast Read. T-3 to Wednesday LGE 📊
There are 4,485 wards in South Africa. More than 50% of the names on ward ballots for the 2026 local government elections belong to someone standing in more than one ward. Long story here about this loophole, but this week let’s pay actual attention.
Before you vote, please double-check how many wards the candidates on your ward’s ballot paper are standing in. Someone on the ballot in multiple wards is not invested in service delivery, your problems, and the community.
Why: Your ward vote elects a councillor, but it also counts towards each party's share of council seats (PR seats), even if a party’s candidate in your ward loses.
Parties therefore put names of candidates on as many ward ballots as they can, and often the same person shows up on ballots, ward after ward. In Johannesburg, there are candidates who are on the ballot in all 135 wards; and similarly in Ethekwini candidates feature in as many as 112 wards.
Search for your address or locate your ward on the map to see who's standing in your ward and where else they may be standing.

Recommended feature to try: 📈 generate an infographic showing details of how your ward voted (overall turnout was dismal that year countrywide 😮💨) and performed in the 2021 LGE, so you can make the most informed decisions now.
Water, stormwater drains, refuse removal and the size of the potholes in your community are political. It’s our business. Get in line. #CountryDuty #Elections

For too long Ukraine has neglected to spread its story in the Global South, now it stands to loose this media war to Russia which is heavily investing in tying large African YouTube channels to its narrative.
Russia sees Africans as cheap cannon fodder & has no problem finding to voices to recruit to this end.

A hardline objective truth. This is what holds the line, not lobby groups and social platforms.
Had it not been for the media and civil society, the public would have had no knowledge that this trial was proceeding or how it is being conducted. Well done to our co-applicants, @News24 @dailymaverick @amaBhungane and our spectacular legal team.
Sober deliberations that our political class could do more with.
Stands out against most of the troll/bot comments this platform feeds. Might just break the algorithm!
ActionSA, I have read your policies, and on paper, I agree with the principle that foreign nationals must be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their immigration status, and that xenophobia must be condemned.
But here is the hard question, Herman Mashaba: What is the value of a policy if your public rhetoric appears to contradict what your party has committed to on paper?
What do we call it when a political party writes one thing in its policy documents but communicates something different to the public? Political hypocrisy? Double standards? Or saying the right things on paper while practising something different in public?
As an EFF member, I believe in enforcing immigration laws without scapegoating African people. Foreign nationals are human beings too. They have dignity, rights and humanity that must be respected. Their nationality or immigration status does not strip them of their humanity, and it must never become an excuse to dehumanise them or encourage hostility towards them.
We cannot allow the working class to be divided by nationality while unemployment, inequality and the concentration of wealth continue to undermine the lives of ordinary people.
There is also a serious electoral accountability question here. The IEC's Electoral Code of Conduct prohibits certain forms of intimidation, incitement to violence and discriminatory conduct in the electoral context. The IEC's Disinformation Code addresses deliberately false or misleading election-related information while protecting legitimate political criticism and opinion.
If political rhetoric crosses those legal boundaries during an election campaign, should the IEC not investigate? No political party should be above the rules. Whether a breach has occurred depends on the specific statements, their context and the available evidence. A contradiction between policy and rhetoric alone does not establish an electoral offence.
Herman Mashaba, I agree with the principle in your written policy. Now demonstrate that same commitment in your public rhetoric and political conduct.
Foreign nationals are human beings. The law must be enforced, but humanity must never be abandoned.
The @EFFSouthAfrica will continue teaching our people that the struggle for economic freedom must never come at the expense of another human being's dignity. We will continue challenging xenophobia, exposing contradictions and advancing the values of equality, solidarity and Pan-Africanism.
