I’m 80 years old. My social security arrived yesterday. For 20 years I never thought about it. It saved my life it’s MY money. But now I’m terrified it won’t arrive. THIS IS EXTORTION 73 million of us should NOT feel anxious and worry because of one man. IF they touch one penny we will rise up. I’ll be on the frontlines. We ride at dawn

President Zelenskyy is an ally of our country who protects Americans’ freedom by holding the line against an authoritarian regime. He doesn’t bow to dictators—neither should our leaders.

If our Christianity causes kids to go hungry, the sick to go without healthcare, the stranger to be unwelcome, the elderly on social security to be called a “parasite,” all while billionaires get richer, we’ve profoundly misunderstood the most basic elements of Jesus’ teachings.

Trump, Elon, and their allies are calling all spending they don't like "fraud." Spending on things like consumer protection, Social Security, and medicine for sick kids. But just calling something "fraud" doesn't make it so. Here are the actual facts 🧵⤵️

Dawn Staley on the legacy she hopes to leave: “My mother grew up in South Carolina. This was the 1940s and early ’50s. Segregation was still legal. Separate bathrooms. All of it. She left the South at the age of 13, seeking equality and opportunity. I think about her a lot … I think about what she made possible for me and maybe what I’m supposed to make possible for others. She left South Carolina because of the racial divide. I came back with a hope to bridge it. I also know what me coaching here symbolizes in light of history. When I walk around different neighborhoods in this city, I’ll hear Black people say, “I had never been on that campus before coming to your game.” I understand that my success isn’t about championships — it’s about bringing together people who were once, and in some ways still are, divided. It’s bigger than basketball. If I never won another championship but my legacy was that — to have changed the face of opportunity and united communities — I’d take that over most other things in this world.” #BlackHistoryMonth playerstribu.ne/Staley

Please understand ppl the celebration of BHM goes back to 1920s when originated by Carter G. Woodson, the father of Black history.
Replying to @CharriseJLane
I kind of wish he had named March as BHM... It feels much more symbolic. If you think about it, naming the shortest month as black history month sends an unintentional slight... but changing it to a 31-day month says, "I see you and inconsider you my equal," and specifically March, so we can "March" into the future together by taking a good long look at the past to see how far we've come.
