Higgsfield sent a cease and desist order to ComfyUI on Oct 28.
ComfyUI is the open source alternative to Higgsfield.
This is so ironic: their CEO called open source his "network effect moat", then never actually opened anything.
Last night, @higgsfield sent @ComfyUI a cease and desist (attached)
They want the Open Source Higgsfield challenge taken down within 48 hours.
Their argument is that our use of the Higgsfield name and that using their CEO's likeness is an infringement violation (man, the irony). Claiming that it makes the event look like Higgsfield is associated with it.
This couldn't be farther from the truth, which is that Higgsfield made a promise to open source its product and never did.
For the past two weeks, builders have been recreating popular closed apps as open workflows anyone can run.
So we asked our community to deliver where Higgsfield failed: apps in the open, built by the community, for the community. We've made it clear that the challenge is organized by ComfyUI and not affiliated with or endorsed by Higgsfield.
When we started Comfy, we made the community a promise. Our product stays open, free, and yours. We鈥檝e kept it every day since, and one letter isn鈥檛 going to change that.
The challenge stays up. Comfy and open source will win!
So on Oct 16 ComfyUI tweets:
"Higgsfield promised to open-source their entire platform. They didn't. Let's help them."
Two weeks, $25,000 in prizes for the best open-source builds on the Comfy Developer Platform.
My framework of choice (primate.run) is great for vibe coding but I still wouldn't recommend it to everyone.
Here is the full picture:
Who should try it:
Full stack devs who vibe code whole apps and don't want to get locked into a particular framework.
Coolify deploys my apps fine, but I'm thinking of removing it on my vps
It's a Vercel-like deploy layer, not a machine manager.
I want something that helps me manage the machine (fail2ban, services running etc). Anything out there?
Owned a $374 UGREEN NAS for a year. Backup works, I still wouldn't buy it again.
1. I don't use their native photo app (immich is just better)
2. SSH gives you no full root
3. Not a big fan of the UGOS apps in general
Any tips on how to diy one?
Very cool, the thing is, this is mostly for single player games right? Whats the use case of generative environments in a multiplayer online game?
Excited to share Genie 4 today our most realistic and interactive world model:
- steer dynamic environments in real time, shaping events, camera angles, and actions
- generate native audio matched to the world, from realistic background sounds to characters who can converse in real time!
- simulate photorealistic scenes and real-world physics
- create more coherent multi-step events through reasoning from Gemini
We've started to roll out as a research preview to trusted testers. Coming soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early access partners via the Gemini API and AI Studio.
Grok bot, Muse, OpenAI Dots. Same idea, all closed, all expensive.
DS-Bot is the open source version: a team of long-lived bots with memory, group chats and bot-to-bot handoffs. Any provider, not just DeepSeek.
I run mine on deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017. Fraction of the cost.
