876,485 people ahead in line for Calvin Harris tickets?! 🤯 That’s what one fan’s Ticketmaster queue screenshot showed for his Chicago show. Some fans reported waiting in massive virtual queues, only to finally get through and find resale tickets listed for hundreds of dollars instead of regular-priced tickets. I’ve worked on both sides of the live music business, and I understand supply and demand. But should resale tickets be available on the same platform while fans are still trying to buy tickets at face value? Curious what everyone thinks about this.

Crystal Waters performed at my club in Houston during a KRBE live broadcast in 1994. Twenty-five years later, I land in Amsterdam for my first ADE and run into her at the airport. Then again at one of the parties. With ADE happening this week, I’ve been looking back at that trip. Music has a way of bringing familiar faces back into your life in places you’d never expect. What’s your best “small world” moment?

Seeing Rudy T, Dream, the Ketchup and mustard uniforms, Tag Team at halftime hearing “Whoomp there it is”, and the @HoustonRockets beating the Mavs tonight giving me those 1995 vibes all over again. Believe It Again and Again!

I’ve watched a lot of records come together over the years, but every song has its own story. This one started with a classroom assignment. Pretty cool hearing Chloe’s reaction to the first demo. 🎶

Some DJs would rather see a bad DJ on turntables than a good DJ on an iPhone. Can we hear the set first? Serato on iPhone gives more people a way to start. They still have to learn music, read a room, and put in the work. And club owners: easier access to equipment doesn’t make experience worth less. If somebody rocks the room from a phone, are you booking them again?

DJs blame promoters when the room is empty. Promoters blame DJs when tickets don’t sell. But here’s the real issue: Nobody agreed on what the booking actually included. A DJ with 100,000 followers doesn’t automatically sell 100 tickets. Being a great DJ and being a ticket-selling attraction are two different things. I’ve been on both sides of this business. So when you book a DJ, are you paying for their performance, their draw, or both? 🎧
