Every other post is proving my point that persona fans don’t want to engage with a game. They want the game to tailor to them. And I just have no respect for that when they bash other fans. Especially when games like Persona 1 are the easiest game for anyone to get into.

I have the same problem with P4 & P4 Revival. I appreciate the efforts that went into the new UIs, but the original PS2 had a very clear intent & identity, while P4R is evidently more iterative of 3+5. As a result there is a loss of thematic relevance. Iykyk.

You guys keep talking of visual cohesion but I don't even think P3 Reload's battle UI is even remotely as good as P3/FES UI so what's the point of the cohesion if the final result is less inspired and distinctive? Shouldn't they be cohesive to the game they're remaking instead?

Like the larpers and elititsts arent acting like the original persona 1 were played like by 10 people and was famously considered mid to below average Like if this formula of the first three games worked, Persona 3 wouldnt have made a drastic shift to the usual formula then.

Persona 1 PSP is a genuine demake overall both aesthetically and music placement. “Whimsical” is something that can’t be used for any mainline Persona game tbh.

also don't think i'm a fan of the whole street graffiti and punk styling of the game. i would've loved to see them use the more whimsical scrapbook like art style that is played around a bit with the psp remake. its all very crafty and textured which i totally adore.

Tbh it’s funny seeing people say persona remakes look like persona 5. And it’s just prettier ui’s and updated mechanics so there’s cohesion within each entry of the games. genuinely, people just sound like they’re pissy for a series having consistency.

I'm expecting the visual identity of a Persona 1 remake to follow that of the game it is remaking? Why wouldn't that be the priority? 🤨 Its style still holds up, not everything needs to follow the same template regardless of how good P5 is.

Yeah this is too good to fake. There’s elements from 1/2 era in the ui that’s adapted for a new street art style, Yuya “idgaf” Narumi, and all the UE debug code in the top left that pops in and out. The video is in the style of a Japanese internal presentation like the P3R leak
