“We have found people literally dead in gurneys,” one told me.

Dr. Mahshid Abir, the lead author of a report on the state of emergency medicine in the U.S., told me this crisis may only get worse in hospitals across the country with Medicaid cuts and rising marketplace insurance premiums.
Recently moved from Chicago to San Francisco (though I'm still doing some editing for @EvRoundTable), and excited to share my first article with the KneeDeep Times, a climate resilience magazine in the Bay Area kneedeeptimes.org/alameda-ba…

some personal news: I'm officially the managing editor @EvRoundTable. Check out my introductory column below, and subscribe to our newsletter for all things Evanston!evanstonroundtable.com/2024/…
Breaking news: The City of Evanston has officially issued a Ryan Field demolition permit to Northwestern. Stadium tear down should begin any day now. Story to come @EvRoundTable @NorthwesternU
*taps mic* is this thing on? After a contentious process that included hundreds of hours of public meetings, City Council approved NU's Ryan Field rebuild, concerts and benefits package last night. @alexhairysun and I were there every step of the way.

In our story, we go deep into the negotiations between Evanston and NU, the benefits offered, the vote and the fractures in the community that now need mending.
We will certainly follow the demolition and construction process, but for now, we rest.
Finally, I'll be on @wlsam890 at 4:13 this afternoon to talk all things Ryan Field rebuild. Tune in!
