The U.S. really needs to get proactive in addressing human rights issues related to AI. Primarily, defining what untransferable rights does an ACTUAL human have? And “What” is the legal definition of human? These are all serious legal questions that need to be settled in law in our new age of agentic AI and, soon to be, generative AI. It could also be an opportunity to reverse the damage done by classifying corporate entities as a “person.”

Let me be honest. I wanted to stay Muslim so badly. Not even because of God or faith at first, but because of the life attached to my faith. My dad’s businesses were waiting for me -  all signed and ready. My mom’s community surrounded me: doctors, lawyers and politicians. Bro, success was laid out in front of me. There was even an arranged marriage lined up for me. She was on track to be a doctor. Beautiful future with the house, the wedding, all of it. All I had to do was say one sentence: “Yeah, I still believe.” That was it. If I said it, I could keep the money, keep the family approval and keep the life I had always known. But here’s the problem, once I met Him, I could not unsee Jesus. When I really read the Quran and compared it to the Gospel, I couldn’t force myself back into pretending Islam was the truth. Honestly bro, knowledge becomes heavy at that point. I didn’t leave Islam to rebel, despite what many believe about me. I left because I could not betray what I believed was true. No business opportunity, no relationship, no comfortable future was worth denying the King who gave His life for me. So yeah, my life would have been easier if I stayed. But when Jesus says, “I am the way,” you don’t answer with, “But the other path feels safer.” You pick up your cross and walk. Follow me for more conversations about Islam, Christianity, Scripture, and how we can reach Muslims with the Gospel.

Disagreement among friends is healthy. Random verbal assaults on X are not healthy. I should probably clarify that if any of you see me arguing with either @SmarterGameShow or @amitylee13… then it is in the context of friendship and deep respect that has developed over years of in-person and online discussions. That is how debate should be handled.

It's estimated that 85% of the total lifetime time you spend with your children happens before the age of 15, and dang it... I'm making the most of it when I can. Tonight I got to introduce William (my 13 yr old) to one of my favorite bands: The Fray. He was skeptical at first, but was a fan by about the second song into the show. They did amazing.

The political hostility leading into this year’s midterm elections, between individuals as well as politicians, has me wanting to tune out the noise and disengage. Those who disagree are no longer treated as neighbors with a different view, but as enemies to be exposed, shamed, and punished. We pile on, we cancel, and we call it justice, often without any desire to see the person restored. What makes this more troubling is that many of those leading and fueling the hostility publicly claim to be Christians. God gave the law to both restrain the wrongdoer and the one who was wronged from extreme retribution (Ex. 21:23-25). Jesus challenged His followers that seeking the maximum punishment in the law also reveals the state of our hearts before God in our desire to receive mercy, but not to show mercy (Mt. 5:38-42; 18:21-35). The religious leaders of His day were careful with the details of the law, yet Jesus said they had neglected justice, mercy, and faithfulness (Mt 23:23). When they brought a woman caught in sin to Him, He did not dismiss the law, but He exposed the hearts of those ready to throw the stones and extended mercy to the one they wanted to condemn (Jn. 8:1-11). A law enforced without love and mercy is not following the example of Christ. Those who bear His name are held to His standard, and Jesus said the world would know His disciples by their love for one another (Jn 13:35). That is true whether the one doing the punishing is on the right or the left. Justice still matters, but mercy triumphs over judgment (Ja 2:13). The question for each of us, and especially for those who profess Christ, is whether we are seeking righteousness, or only the satisfaction of seeing our political opponents humbled.

AI is progressing so rapidly that entire professions built around AI in 2018-2020 are already obsolete.

A lot of folks who've been relying on AI to get through college are up for a rude awakening this semester now that ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini have all added identifiable watermarks for content generation. cnn.com/2026/08/20/us/word-o…

I started arguing about politics this evening, then I remembered... nothing on this platform matters beyond entertainment value. So, I went and enjoyed a walk with Will and Josh. Hope you all have a good evening!

We have a security guard who is a retired U.S. Marine. Whenever Publix has some type of dessert or candy that is BOGO, I make a point of giving it to him. Every Christmas and Thanksgiving I take him something special. My boys asked why I did that, and I told them because he gets taken for granted by a lot of people. When my oldest son first got his drivers license and a job, he came home and said, "Dad, the reason I have so many of those new Oreo's Reece Cups down in the kitchen is because I got some to give our security guy. I thought he would like them." You always hope that once your children gain more independence they hang on to some of the values you instill in them through your own flawed behavior. The most important ones to me are that they have a desire for God and that they keep their eyes open to how they can make other people's lives just a little better for having interacted with them. So proud of my oldest son.
