Yesterday, I had the honour of meeting His Excellency Daniel Francisco Chapo @daniel_chapo24, President of the Republic of Mozambique, @PresidenciaMoz, on behalf of @_ARIPO. I reiterated ARIPO’s strong and valued partnership with Mozambique, a Member State dedicated to regional cooperation and advancing Intellectual Property across Africa. Mozambique’s vision of Renovar Moçambique aligns with key priorities shaping the continent’s future: stability, institutional reform, industrialisation, investment, private-sector expansion, and inclusive growth. At ARIPO, we see Intellectual Property as a vital strategic tool for transforming knowledge, creativity, and innovation into economic value. We remain committed to supporting Mozambique’s efforts toward sustainable prosperity and industrial development.

Through @_ARIPO, #SMEs can benefit from registering #utilitymodels. They offer #inventors cost-effective alternatives to secure exclusive rights, protecting minor improvements/functional enhancements made upon existing products/processes and preserving competitive advantage.

@_ARIPO Member States adopted the Swakopmund Protocol for the Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Expressions of Folklore in 2010. The envisaged @WIPO treaty relating to #IP, genetic resources, and associated traditional knowledge furthers our collective goals.
