NEW: The family of the teen gunman who murdered a teacher and student in a St. Louis school had recently called police and asked them to take his AR-15. There's no Red Flag Law in Missouri, so police gave the gun to a third-party, but the teen got it back. abcnews.go.com/US/st-louis-s…

Over four years ago, Brian protested with March For Our Lives to demand action on gun violence in our schools and communities. This week, he was shot in both hands and through his neck by an AR-15 at his school in St. Louis. He jumped out of a window to save his life.

Recently, I’ve been asked about good tools for plotting variants on proteins. I currently use MuPIT (mupit.icm.jhu.edu/MuPIT_Inte…) Protter (wlab.ethz.ch/protter/start/) DOG (dog.biocuckoo.org/) See pics for examples from my lab’s recent papers. #genomics #protein @TNTurnerLab

You don’t have to abandon your faith or your beliefs to agree that the government should not be making decisions about what women do with their own bodies.

Today, abortion bans are going into effect in Idaho, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Tomorrow, one will likely go into effect in North Dakota. The legislators who passed these extreme laws don’t trust women of their states to make decisions about their bodies. @POTUS and I do.

As a breast surgical oncologist in Texas, what am I supposed to tell my patients who have just been diagnosed with an estrogen responsive tumor in the first trimester? Just wait for your cancer to spread??

In Missouri, a bill can be filed in the House, passed to the Senate, sent to and signed by the Governor without needing a single woman’s vote. When you start writing laws telling us what we can and can’t do with OUR bodies, it’s time for that to change.
