Chuffed the first Yank (Lesserlegs) I’ve found on my new patch is still here! But will it stay until #GlobalBigDay ?
And a 4th American wader took me to #200 for England! Slightly regretting only spending 2 days on the coast now 😒

The two Spotted Crakes at Titchwell today showed really well especially into the evening.

This is the difference between Abel Sanchez and Ben Davison. Abel made Hrgović run around Big Bear mountain at 10,000” above seal level. Ben analysed video. Hrgović deserves his unification fight in Croatia after a 20 year career.
I’m not going say I told you so :)

Moses’ ego betrayed him tonight. He simply could not accept that another man could keep absorbing his power. So instead of taking what the fight was giving him, he became obsessed with proving that Hrgovic had to fall. Head shot after head shot, loading up, constantly stepping on the accelerator trying to force a knockout that wasn’t there.
But Moses is 21 years old, man. This is exactly where a corner has to become the adult in the room. Calm him down. Make him breathe. Tell him, “Forget the knockout. You’re winning every round. Box. Touch the body. Make him carry you. Let the fight come to you.” Ben Davison failed his prodigy and should be fired for this colossal mistake.
Because Filip Hrgovic is a DOG. We already knew that. I’ve watched this man fight through exhaustion, punishment and moments where his body looked ready to negotiate surrender while his mind kept refusing to sign the paperwork. You don’t keep emptying the gas tank trying to convince a man like that to quit.
Moses was winning the fight. He didn’t need a knockout, but he wanted one more than he needed the victory.
And eventually, the strangest thing happened: the man he was desperately trying to break was still standing and Moses’s body finally said enough.
He won every round, but completely exhausted himself punching Hrgovic’s head and eventually became so depleted that he could barely stand. The fight had to be stopped.
I’ve watched boxing for a long time and I genuinely can’t remember seeing anything quite like this.
Moses didn’t get knocked out by a punch tonight. He simply punched himself empty.

Hoy, se cumplen 90 años del asesinato de Federico García Lorca.

Looking forward to watching the power grid survive on thoughts, prayers, and millions of AC units running at once.
But I'm sure it's fine. The solution to extreme climate collapse is just "buying AC." Right?

Así fue el recibimiento a la selección de Egipto en Dallas (EEUU), mientras un jugador se hacía una foto con un niño, la policia estadounidense se encaró y agredió a miembros del staff nacional egipcio.

I remember French TV doing their normal météo broadcast in about 1997 and at the end they ran a segment on ‘France in 2050’.
The pastiche yet highly prescient map suggested northern France might regularly hit 40c.
Meanwhile 25 years too early…
Hey @LabourParty can we get one of these instead of the already obsolete HS2?
Dubai is planning to build “The Loop”, a groundbreaking 93-kilometer air-conditioned urban highway for walking, running, and cycling.
Designed by the architectural studio URB, this ambitious project is a key part of Dubai’s “20-minute city” vision, aiming to connect over three million residents to essential services within a short walk or bike ride.
The fully climate-controlled corridor will maintain comfortable temperatures year-round, allowing people to stay active even during the scorching summer months. In addition to transport, The Loop will feature parks, sports facilities, and recreational spaces, turning it into a vibrant, multifunctional public destination.
The project supports Dubai’s bold goal of having 80% of residents commuting on foot or by bicycle by 2040, promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing car dependency, and lowering emissions.
A world-first concept that perfectly blends sustainability, innovation, and quality of life.
This month’s issue of the BTO ringing / banding magazine. Ya know, just in case you have an abundance of Rollers and Bee-eaters in the mist net... 😃

Gravel pits in the Fens are not the most picturesque places but Purple Heron, purring Turtle Doves, breeding Marsh Harriers and a Squacco round the corner (and no gravel being washed on a Sunday so the Grey and Yellow Wagtails can play in it) is pretty nice.

Plus if you use the “compare” feature and line up the birds correctly, there is infinite comedy to be had.

#Waders. This spring has been particularly good for Woodsands.
Of course the day after #globalbigday the weather gets bad & drops the all rarities in. Still, 115 species in the sunshine from 330am to the last Tawny Owl tremolo & we won the inter-state bird race: a lot of fun and bird music 🎶 💚
