Since fate sent this post onto my feed for whatever reason, I might as well quote it. Hope you don’t mind :)
When the novel was officially translated, I specifically asked the translator to keep the word ‘teerak’ as is because (besides the fact that I think it’s super cute, kind of playful, and downright pillow-biting swoony when Khun Jirapat says it) I also wanted to preserve the feel of this Thai term of endearment, just as other languages have their own special ways of expressing affection. I think keeping it this way would let non-Thai readers indulge in the story even more. Hope I'm right tho! 😜
