Ebola does not spread like COVID-19. Ebola spreads through direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person who is sick or has died. It can also spread through contact with contaminated objects, such as clothing, bedding or medical equipment. Unlike COVID-19, Ebola is not considered an airborne infection that spreads through ordinary breathing. Knowing how Ebola spreads helps you take the right precautions. Avoid contact with body fluids, do not handle contaminated items, and seek medical attention if you develop symptoms or suspect exposure. Imagine waking up one morning feeling unwell. You have a fever, a headache, and unusual weakness. At first, you might think it is just another illness. But what if you had recently been in contact with someone who was sick with Ebola? Knowing what to look out for, how Ebola spreads, and what to do next could make a difference. Ebola spreads mainly through direct contact with the blood or other body fluids of an infected person. It does not spread through the air during ordinary interactions, and wearing a mask alone is not enough to protect you. So, what can you do? Practice good hand hygiene, avoid contact with the body fluids of anyone who is sick, and never handle the body of someone suspected to have died from Ebola. Watch out for symptoms such as sudden fever, severe weakness, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you develop symptoms after possible exposure, seek medical advice immediately. Do not wait for bleeding to occur. Awareness is a powerful first step in protecting ourselves and our communities. Swipe through to learn the facts, recognize the warning signs, and understand how to protect yourself and others. Stay informed. Act early. Share widely. #ebolaawareness #publichealth #outbreakpreparedness #infectionprevention #drasa

Patient safety does not begin when a patient enters a hospital, and it does not end when they leave. It is connected to the systems, communities, practices, and decisions that shape the entire healthcare journey. This is why the Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust’s work across health security, infection prevention and control, community health and hygiene, and antimicrobial resistance is part of the broader patient safety conversation. At the 2026 World Patient Safety Day commemoration, DRASA reaffirmed its commitment to working with government, healthcare workers, partners, patients, and communities to advance safer healthcare in Nigeria. No one should suffer from preventable infections, and no one should be harmed by the care intended to make them better. #patientsafety #healthsecurity #ipc #antimicrobialresistance #drasa

What if we could see IPC improvement before an outbreak does? At the 2026 National Conference on Infection Control, the Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust shared findings from its work across seven primary healthcare centers in Lagos, where structured assessments, targeted interventions, and continuous monitoring helped identify gaps and track improvement. The lesson is simple: you cannot improve what you do not measure. Data helps us make better decisions, strengthen systems, and create safer care. #drasa #ipc #publichealth #primaryhealthcare #healthsecurity
