I’ve watched great OG projects get sidelined while meme coins trend. CEX mismanagement is pushing trust back to DEXs—transparent, community-first, and built to last. The future is decentralized.

Yesterday a single compromised laptop was reportedly enough to push around $6 billion in unauthorised withdrawals out of the biggest exchange in crypto, and while Binance says users will be covered, the lesson is bigger than one exchange: whoever holds the keys holds the risk.

Not your keys not your coins. Market reacted very harshly when @binance delisted us, when in hindsight it could be the best thing that can happen to a project which requires decentralization to become valuable.

📒 New Release: Libnexa-TS 3.1.0 With Read-Only Inputs
The Nexa ecosystem infrastructure is constantly being developed and improved, and this time it is our pleasure to present Libnexa-TS 3.1.0, a new release with read-only inputs.
Libnexa-TS is an open-source library and provides a reliable SDK for TypeScript/JavaScript apps that need to interface with the Nexa network.
It’s designed for developers and now supports read-only inputs, which allow multiple transactions to access the same data, and it is useful for UTXO smart contracts and token authorities.

Nexa uses a Proof-of-Work system to ensure security and decentralization. Nexa links UTXO assets to on-chain payments, ensuring efficient and secure transaction processing.

A hash-based DA is information theoretical floor for safety/security in blockchain modular design. Any other complexity other than reproducing the full payload and validating the hash will degrade security in some way either adding statistical risk, economic risk or cryptographic risk to the underlying mechanism design.

WHY I CHOSE NEXA
My Journey Since 2023
Out of thousands of coins, why did I choose Nexa?
I’ve been following Nexa since 2023. What keeps me here is the vision—and my desire to see that vision become something people actually use.
The waiting hasn’t always been easy. But I keep watching the development, asking questions, and looking at what is being built.
Today, Tailstorm is undergoing testing and hardening ahead of activation. Its planned integration brings a DAG of subblocks into Nexa’s architecture, aiming for faster transaction confidence.
Blitz takes another approach to scaling: dedicated hardware designed to move digital signature verification off the CPU. That is why its development interests me.
NexScript is also evolving, giving developers more tools for building smart contracts.
The 2026–2027 roadmap connects these efforts with broader ambitions: developer infrastructure, Tokadex, Wrapped Bitcoin, and planned upgrades for post-quantum signatures and lightweight verification.
These are goals to follow—not guaranteed outcomes. Delivery, security, and real adoption will matter.
For me, Nexa’s future depends on turning engineering into useful applications.
That is why I’m still here.
Following since 2023.
Still asking questions.
Still looking forward.

📒 Hardware Acceleration: Nexa Node on an FPGA
In the last article we met Blitz, the card that takes signature checking off the CPU. We closed with a bigger question: what happens when you put the whole node inside an FPGA?
We don’t like running a node on our main desktop machine, especially when it is bogging down all cores, the fans are blazing and the office is heating up. We want to run it on a tiny little node that we plug into the router and just SSH into when we need to.
That is the long game of this series: building a microchip for cryptocurrency, a microchip that can do the same thing as your software node, but is faster, more reliable, uses less energy, and can be built for a fraction of the cost.
That chip is still ahead of us, but there are a lot of useful things we can do directly in hardware in the meantime.

Syscoin is a Bitcoin-powered blockchain ecosystem focused on scalability, security, and decentralized applications. It combines Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work security with data availability and scalable smart-contract infrastructure, enabling developers to build rollups and Web3 applications with lower transaction costs. Its ecosystem includes Rollux, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 network, while its native token, $SYS, is used for transaction fees and network incentives.

We went with UTXO + EVM because the settlement layer should be purposefully slow and robust. UTXO is merged with @bitcoin and EVM allows for expressive smart contracts so you get shared accounting (something UTXO just cannot do safely or without UX fragmentation risk). Besides this the job of the settlement layer is also DA which should be hash based for PQ safety so that expansion off of the EVM is possible. If your bet is on slow purposeful settlement connected to @bitcoin but expanding and scaling throughput through ZK, then you have @syscoin.

From now on discussions around what humans should work on will be at higher level and abstractions rather than technical details, like how coders used to talk in design patterns compared to technical implementations . We will apply design patterns to all possible problems in any design space. Governance is a big one we haven't deviated away from in many decades and is ripe for disruption. It also disrupts all of the power structures and there is nothing they can do to stop it, it brings those in power down to the level of someone who has the same high level abstract ideas. Implementation, intelligence and resource arbitrage ensures all access will be equal, just final decisions may be decided by some resource-contention adjudication system (like blockchain).

I’m sharing our ongoing research in PVUGC PR #1 (github.com/syscoin/PVUGC/pul…). We’re pursuing one of cryptography’s most ambitious ideas: witness encryption. The goal is to bind a secret to a public NP statement today, so that someone who produces a valid witness later can unlock it. We’re aiming for the stronger extractable form, with post-quantum security.
The motivation is a trust-minimized connection between @Bitcoin and @syscoin. Our proposed path evaluates the witness off chain and uses it to unlock a capability for an ordinary Bitcoin spend. Since Bitcoin lacks the covenant functionality this path needs, we’re studying an abortable N-of-N setup that assumes at least one honest participant. Making that setup secure against malicious participants is part of the open research. It also may offer a relaxation on WE math by placing more trust in setup instead.
iO offers a theoretical route to ordinary witness encryption, but it does not solve our stronger requirements. My hourly AI-assisted research loop has explored SPHFs, local mixing, source-bound SLH-DSA key generation, and other directions. The PR records the proofs, experiments, counterexamples, and open gaps. We have not found a secure construction yet, and I’d welcome independent review and new ideas. It may be impossible, but should not stop us from trying. This is the new era of research.

📒 Tailstorm: Hardening the Protocol
Tailstorm replaces single 2-minute blocks with a DAG of subblocks that are tied together by a summary block, while keeping the 2-minute settlement cadence.
The code already ships inside Full Node 2.2.0.0 and stays dormant until the second hard fork is activated.
Since that release our developers have been working on closing gaps in the consensus checks, making fork comparison more accurate, and building tests that put Tailstorm through the situations a live network will throw at it.
This article walks you through the improvements and refinements made in the past weeks. 👇
