SWACHHATA INITIATIVE • SPECIAL CAMPAIGN 6.0 • MISSION ZERO SCRAP 🚆 Under the leadership of Ms. Gitika Pandey, General Manager, Eastern Railway, scrap sales reached ₹74.44 crore in October 2026, setting a new monthly record and surpassing the target of ₹61 crore. Shri Sandeep Shukla, Principal Chief Material Manager (PCMM), guided the Materials Department’s work under Special Campaign 6.0. As part of the Swachhata initiative, teams mapped major field units, identified accumulated scrap and organised its disposal. The major work units identified during the drive are now scrap-free, marking a step towards Mission Zero Scrap. TRACK UPGRADATION • LAYOUT CORRECTION • INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT 🚆 Another significant milestone in strengthening railway infrastructure and operational safety! Under the leadership of Ms. Gitika Pandey, General Manager, Eastern Railway, and the guidance of Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, and Shri Vikram Gupta, Principal Chief Engineer, Eastern Railway, Malda Division successfully completed the forced layout correction of Crossover No. 56A at BPBS Yard on 31 October 2026. The work involved rectification of the defective track layout, shifting of Point No. 56A, sleeper renewal and rail replacement, along with associated track maintenance activities to improve track geometry and operational reliability. This marks the fifth forced layout correction successfully undertaken by Team Malda during FY 2026–27, reflecting the Division's continued focus on systematic infrastructure improvement and safe train operations.
