During last night's board meeting, the 2026 Orlean Beeson School of Education Distinguished Partner Award was presented to Birmingham City Schools in recognition of its exemplary collaboration and commitment to excellence in education by strengthening opportunities for students, educators and the community. The award was presented by Dr. Monique Gardner Witherspoon, Professor of Educational Leadership, and Dr. Kara M. Chism, Department Chair of Educational Leadership, with Board President Sherman Collins and Human Resources Officer Dr. Corvetta Clasberry accepting it.
