Translation: Google thinks everyone is dumb and they will decide what is real, fake, true or false without your consent, input or ability to change a setting.
Google's "let them eat cake" moment.
$GOOG VP Josh Woodward reveals Gemini is moving toward one prompt box with no modes or toggles, and hints a “personal, proactive, powerful” version of Gemini is coming soon
“I think where we’re iterating is that we’ve been in a world where, even if you look at some of the other competitors, there are different modes that you go into. I think the lesson, even from the last couple of weeks, is: forget the modes and toggles. Just one prompt box—tell it what you want, and it just does stuff for you.
“That’s definitely where we’re headed and where others are headed. I think that’s a broader UX simplification happening across the industry.
“On the data bits, one of the main things people will ping me about is, ‘Google, I’ve got all my stuff with you. Just make the thing work.’ There’s a lot of reluctance to connect it to a lot of competitor products. Watch this space. We hear you loud and clear.
“There’s a lot of work—if you go online and look under ‘personal intelligence’—which is how we think about this. You want a Gemini that is personal, proactive, powerful, that works for you. That’s been the vision for the last year or so that we’re headed toward. There’s a lot of stuff we’re playing with right now that will be out soon.”
I love AI, but I miss programming. In fact, I'm forgetting a lot.
There's a certain feeling you get from solving a hard problem in code. It often required other people (stack overflow) to lend a hand.
How do you get that rewarding feeling back when building with AI?
With AI " the next billion dollar company will be 1 person team."
Then, Open AI or Anthropic will just clone it and include it in a $20 subscription.
Happy building 😅
Jev: I finally got in. Simple to use, love the noul type for descriptions, cost is great.
But, isn't it just a super fancy pants zero-shot classifier?
Results are really good, and I'm definitely not complaining...
But really, isn't it just zero shot?

Graph data structures, algorithms, and a reusable HTML viewer for JavaScript. QuikGraphWeb adapts QuikGraph to browsers, workers, and Node, retaining its PascalCase class and member names and event-driven algorithm model. github.com/wieslawsoltes/Qui…
All the time. In fact, a change that touches > 2 files has to be justified by 5 why's and presented to me before execution. That, and many other safeguards in global instruction files.

Has anyone ever actually challenged a decision made by Claude Code or Codex while coding?
Like, the AI suggests a way to do something and you just go:
“No, I think there’s a better way.”
Curious how often people actually push back on their AI coding tools.

SITUATION: Astra has been working autonomously for 12 hours - (without me asking it to 😅)
And i'm not stopping it.
WHAT I INITIALLY ASKED FOR:
>Simulate building an 18-hole course
>Find a real location
>Use maps + actual topographic data
> Fit the holes to the natural terrain
WHAT HAPPENED:
>Researched MacKenzie, Doak, Coore + Dye
>Compared Sardinian + Tasmanian sites
>Matched LiDAR terrain to aerial imagery
>Designed split-fairway shot strategies
>Shaped 19 bunker bowls + raised lips
>Tested sightlines at golfer eye height
>Built custom constrained terrain solvers
>Added independent geometry audits
WHAT'S BEEN BUILT:
>Three.js editor: sculpt, paint, fly over
>18 holes / 90 tees / 54 pin sectors
>0.625m authored green-complex mesh
>2.18M triangles / 536,517 solver variables
>3m-wide path slope + crossfall checks
>Cut/fill estimates + drainage diagnostics
>Editable Blender scenes + GLB exports
>Cited manuals + hole-by-hole design briefs
No idea what it's doing...will report back.
Explosion of creativity all over X. Fantastic 💪
Instead of checking my phone first thing, I set up an agent to make a "morning newspaper".
It prints while I sleep. I used grokbot @bot to pull from my calendar and email
I made it available if you wanna try it 👇
Beautiful idea, works well on 2 papers I've tried.
Definitely easier to digest. Although I think I'd still just point an agent at the paper url and have it explain to me in my preferred learning methods (I love analogies)
You can now watch any AI paper instead of reading it
There's a new site called arXivisual that turns ANY arXiv paper into a fully animated breakdown for free.
Just add "isual" to the link
arxiv.org/abs/1706.03762 becomes arxivisual.org/abs/1706.0376…
Paste it and an agent pipeline breaks the paper into sections, finds the concepts worth animating, writes Manim code for each one, and narrates it with voice
You scroll, the narration plays, and each animation sits right next to the paragraph it explains
Tried it on the original Transformers paper. Attention finally made sense to me in a way 10 blog posts never did, and it's open source. Four college kids built it at a hackathon
Here's what I'd do if I were you:
1. Pick the one paper you've been avoiding
2. Change the link and paste it in
3. Scroll through it on your phone with headphones in
4. Ask your AI to explain the one section you still don't get
You'll learn more in 20 minutes than a whole weekend of pretending to read PDFs
This is how you read research in 2026
Codex users, don't forget Rust Token Killer (rtk github.com/rtk-ai/rtk) to drastically reduce token usage.
How it works: github.com/rtk-ai/rtk/blob/d…
Been using this awesome proxy on Claude Code for a while, it's fantastic. Rarely trips, usually on debugging logs, but rare.

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Thanks for reading. We will do a global reset of the usage for all paid subscriptions so that you can keep enjoying Astra after burning through all of it doing fun 3D modeling in blender. The work week is about to start.
Lands around 6pm PST today.
