WHO reports a global shortage of 11 million health workers by 2030 including 5.8 million in Africa alone🥲 That’s why I’m excited about what we are doing at @pisgahhealth. Cos we are building not just personal agents for clinicians but democratizing quality care in the continent and maybe globally soon enough. Of course, there’s so much work going into this from @OpenAI @a16z @AnthropicAI and many others but much of these is still limited to the US and many more advanced markets. We hope our work here changes the narrative on this. The goal is that clinicians offer premium care at affordable cost obviously. In @mwseibel @daltonc paraphrased chat “what’s the most premium level of healthcare that can be gotten if you had infinite money? Get it and democratize it for everyone at good cost”.

The postcode work by @bosuntijani and his team is super exciting. For the first time, software can read and verify an address, not just landmarks in Nigeria. For healthcare, it could mean nurses finding patients who stopped coming for treatment, spotting outbreaks street by street, and getting medicines and care to people closer to home, emergency services' quick response, and so much more. I built a small open-source package to help devs building healthtech products store a patient's postcode safely and share only as much of the address as each use needs.
