FOR DECADES You keep wondering where African Leaders learnt to push COGENT ISSUES under the carpet....
DEAR African Leader, YOU ARE FIRST AN ELDER... LEAVE THE DANCE OF SHAME!

There is a way the world powers see Africa as a place to test run their ideologies. Until Africa goes African (LOOK WITHIN AND SOLVE PROBLEMS WITHOUT THEM); we will keep a merry-go-round game. I love the Chinese way too... Go learn from them and comeback to fix yours....

I don't think it's elitism but lack of Africa's social constructivism.Growing up in ajaokuta Kogi state amongst foreigners,I had access to good roads, water, & social amenities. However, it was a culture shock having travelled 30 States to find out these basic things don't exist.

I've spoken to GEJ before, and the truth is that, like P.O., he is not "that guy." He was never going to be the one to get his people fired up and knowingly make enemies out of Western governments. He's an Academic, not a hard-nosed political operator.
The pro of this approach is that people like GEJ/PO are unable to be smeared in western media as 'dictators' because they'd rather let go of power than pick a fight with the Intelligence communities that control Western media. Thus, if their people stand up for them, it is difficult for the usual suspects to label them and make them politically and diplomatically isolated.
The con is that if their people do NOT stand up for them, like Nigerians did not stand up in 2015 and 2023, they quickly became diplomatically isolated political orphans who are left at the mercy of the foreign intelligence proxies who seized control of Nigeria 9 years ago. That's why GEJ ended up romancing with APC, and if Nigerians continue to cower and do nothing, PO will eventually be forced to kiss the ring, like Datti already has.
It all depends on whether 210 million people continue to insist on being powerless and invisible. The day they decide to act like free citizens of the most populated sovereign country on the planet's 2nd most populous continent, as against terrified subjects of a tiny American island dependency in the middle of the Pacific Ocean somewhere, things will start to change very quickly.
Nigeriéns did exactly this last year, asserting themselves as an ambitious sovereign nation instead of a French vassal island, and they now have the world's fastest growing economy expanding at 11%.
The choice is always available to us, whenever we decide to take it.
