Do you recognize that feeling that you are so excited about the project you are working on it stresses you out even though you are enjoying it?

I am a freelance developer doing consulting for large companies and I do fun side projects and apps for small companies and clubs. I like to ride my motor bike when I am not building. Looking to connect with other developers who: - Freelance - Ride a motor bike - build apps

“My side projects are like my whisky collection.” I buy too many new bottles, then drink horizontally. A tiny bit from each, because once a bottle is empty, I no longer have it. I like still having it available. That’s the part of the comparison that catches me.

I don't owe every side project a finish. The uninteresting whiskies sit half empty in my cellar, too.

I work on enterprise and government IT projects. My side projects are still the part that excites me most.

I'm more interested in making custom software affordable than making it sound impressive. Alongside my enterprise & government consulting, I build for smaller businesses. That's where AI interests me: reducing dev work to make a useful, limited first version feasible.

Absolutely incredible what motion clips Claude Opus 5.5 can create with a single prompt and you just point it at your website. That's it! I made this one for NasCam. Prompt in the first reply

Shoutout to @dvtoever Daniël is the first founder joining my Forgefy marketing experiment. He’s a software developer and freelancer with multiple projects, including Bikelock and NasCam. He’s already built and sold products. His problem is a familiar one: He’s much better at building than getting attention for what he builds. And honestly, asking for help with that isn't always easy either. So I really respect him for putting himself out there and giving this a serious shot. We’ll work on his positioning, messaging, content, distribution, and conversion, and automate as much of the repetitive marketing as possible with Forgefy. We’ll also use his founder profile on X to bring more attention to the projects behind it. The goal isn't more content. The goal is more people seeing the right products, and ultimately more customers. I’ll document the process and share what works, what doesn't, and what we learn along the way. Let’s see what we can do. Go give Daniël a follow and cheer him on. He’s putting himself out there and giving this a real shot. ❤

Saturday morning is the official start of the home automation work week. Sales for NasCam spike almost exclusively on the weekends. Most Synology users manage their own home security setups in the margins of a busy life. In the weekend dads finally get to do home automation
