The benefits of nix (true reproducibility) are massive in a world where agentic flows define how we build software. It would seem to me that in a time when we're building more than ever, we should focus more on establishing solid fundamental infrastructure.

I have the idea that concurrent Nix build processes may work as a computational interpretation of the semi-axiomatic sequent calculus for adjoint logic. To check this, I am basing some new developments in nixbuild.net on the idea. Stay tuned :-)

I miss this all the time in Haskell, for all the reasons listed in the thread. You can kind of get it with Backpack, but it's too heavy.
On authored interface files. This is how I call things like Ocaml's mli files. I don't know an established name for them, so it's the name I propose using. An authored interface file contains the whole documented interface exposed by a module/component/unit/file/thing. 1/9
