Yesterday, while I was talking with other Enthusiast of #AI, I have to bring history to the table. I told them that #alphafold is the fist #AI model to solve a scientific problem , a real problem unlike a toy universe for Navier-Stokes.
Turn out we have to discuss deeply what is a IP and that you need to read those pesky terms and conditions. At least Alphafold3 was clear about the allowed usage.

The most discussed topic around me is the rising cost of free #AI I even hear that licenses are more and more expensive. I am pivoting to locally host my own #LLM and in the middle I find out my favorite extension for #VsCode, continue.dev, was acquired by cursor !!

Huge news: @OriolVinyalsML leaving GDM to build Discovery Loop with @JeffDean.
AI × frontier science is, in my view, one of the defining opportunities of the coming years: it's what drew us to build @InvivoPartners's new thesis around it. Seeing researchers of this caliber go all-in on the same space is both humbling and hugely encouraging.

Thirteen years ago, a quick email exchange with @JeffDean brought me to @Google. After an unforgettable journey from Brain, to DeepMind, and to @GoogleDeepMind, working on seq2seq or distillation, and co-leading huge projects such as AlphaStar, and Gemini, I'm saying goodbye to GDM.
The best part? The same person who brought me in is challenging me to take the next leap.
Excited to build Discovery Loop (@DiscoLoopAI) alongside @JeffDean, @quocleix, and @Sanjay_Ghemawat
