Just accepted in @angew_chem, our first @UWMadisonChem beginning to end pub. We show that radiolysis induces metal-complex centered redox chemistry at the tracer level for Co(II/III). onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
I don’t post here much anymore but the world should know that I’m proud of the accomplishments of recent PhD graduates Dr Jennifer Whetter and Dr Minhua Cao! The first @UWMadison graduates of the @BorosLab !
Two tour-de-force manuscripts for @AxiaMarlin to close out her postdoc with us. Check out two very different Siderophore stories. In @ChemicalScience we elucidate the mechanism of action of Ga-sideromycins and provide guiding principles for future compound design strategies. 1/2
Congratulations to Axia @AxiaMarlin and Emma
@PhuongT07144197 on their recent publications in @ChemicalScience and @BioconjChem
Check it out! @e_boros @UWMadisonChem

Happy to have played a small part in this: speciation work by alumnus Angus Koller!
Check out Christian’s and Sam’s first publication in @J_A_C_S! In collaboration with @BorosLab, we dive into the aqueous equilibria of water-soluble metathesis catalysts—and what they mean for productivity 🌊

Happy to introduce @BorosLab PhD #6, Dr. Jennifer Whetter @Jenn_Chem ! Congratulations to a successful and smooth defense! Well done! @e_boros @UWMadisonChem
Our last group meeting of the year was all about our favorite literature this past year. Here are our top picks, with Zhibo Liu’s SuFEx radiotherapy taking first place. 🥇
Welcome first year PhD students Jess, Jennie and Carter! We’re so excited to get you started. 🧪 🥼 ☢️
Let's bite into a Ph.D. like a donut!
We welcome new first year PhD students: Jess, Carter @cbrodgers01 and Jennie @ChihjungJennieC. Happy to have you in @BorosLab . @e_boros @UWMadisonChem

“Gut Ding will Weile haben!” an absolute Tour de force led by @Jenn_Chem of uncovering how small changes to molecular geometry and donor atom identity have consequences for the chelation of radifluorination and room temp Sc-44, Y-86 and Lu-177 chelation.

As always a team effort with our cyclotron gang led by John Engle @wiscmedphys. We are excited to put these molecules to work for targeted imaging and therapy soon. ☢️
Along the way, this work came together thanks to the support of @Darek_Smilowicz @shgraceahn @AngusKoller, @AxiaMarlin, @CormacKelderman just name a few current and alumni lab members.

Field trip with our Nuclear and Radiochemistry class yesterday to the @UWMadison reactor! Absolute highlight was to finally see Cherenkov radiation with my own eyes. ☢️
Now out in @ChemicalScience, we study design principles for Sc/Lu/ScF chemistry led by @CormacKelderman and Owen Glaser. We explored structure activity relationships for radiochelation with tools ranging from Sc-45 NMR, DFT to radiochemistry and BioD. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/arti…
This expansive study was enabled by our move close to the Sc-44 source at @wiscmedphys produced by the cyclotron group led by Jon Engle.
