“Diversity” in Britain has a similar role to “the war with Japan” and “the revolution” in China

I always like when Sci-Fi resolves “spooky future problems” with simple and obvious solutions. “How do we know who is a real human? Simple: all the holograms have a big H on their forehead” “How do we stop robots overthrowing us? Simple: they only live for four years”

NGE has a touch of this - the Evas can’t go rogue because they need to be plugged in.

I gave Claude control of my scanner. Hearing the scanner move on its own accord, and realising that Claude now had an eye to see, gave me a strange sense of having brought the AI further into the physical realm

It was quite impressive as it was an old scanner the software was no longer available for, the I used for scanning film negatives. Claude wrote the code to run the scanner, and calibrated how to process the negatives by comparing with scans done at the lab.

Doesn’t make sense to have “doesn’t cheat” as a minimum for a relationship. Definitionally, everyone who cheats has at least two relationships.

This will never happen because the CCP thinks of itself as a Marxist-Leninist party. Similarly to how a Catholic who has premarital sex and doesn’t attend mass still recoils from “atheism”, the CCP would support a Maoist party with 20 members rather than anything on the right.
You see claims sometimes that ‘The Right’ in Europe is being covertly sponsored by America or Russia but never by China. When are we going to get Chinese-sponsored Right Wing Populism? When will China start funnelling money into Technocratic Developmentalist parties in Europe?

But of course the bigger issue is that the Chinese are really disinterested in the domestic politics of other countries, except in narrow respects that directly affect them.

My treasonous thoughts
The arrest of the SAS men for murder is just the continuation of a twenty year trend.

Posting is a solved problem. You literally just need to have interesting ideas, and be able to express them in a compelling way. It really is as simple as that.

Finding out that there was a police investigation into actions during the Mau Mau uprising in the 21st century really was a surprise

Japan’s birth rate is higher than Spain, Poland and Italy.
'Because Japan doesn't want immigrants they're going to become extinct.' Author Camilla Cavendish, whose book Generation Maybe examines the reasons birth rates are falling, explains why there is a clock in a university in Japan that is counting down the years until the country runs out of children. Japan is an outlier for birthrates: it is incredibly high for East Asia xitter.cf/birthgauge/status/2051…
The new birth update is out! I am not sure however by how much the war affected Iran's birth registration.

So glad I never got psyopped into “learning to code”. What a waste of time that would have been!

Not that “should’ve learnt a trade” will come out much better in the long run. I’m already able to do small jobs that with Claude where previously I would have resorted to an electrician.

Imagine if all archaeologists working in Britain were obliged to take King Arthur seriously, and vast resources were expended trying to dig up Camelot. That’s basically the Xia Dynasty.
6,000 years of world history on a single timeline. Zoom in. You could spend 30 minutes exploring this.
