thinking about my late Father Leonard & his Father Chief Dan, they both survived Residential School. 5 yrs old, my grampa was beat for speaking the only language he knew. Despite their abuses they worked tirelessly to help white ppl & bridge great divides. They both had big love! – at Burrard Inlet 3, British Columbia

I believe we are born for one reason: to become the best possible human beings we can in our life time.

Tsleil-Waututh Nation is joining the chorus of First Nations, pro-democracy organizations, environmental groups, and civil society in raising grave concerns about Bill C-5, the so-called Building Canada Act. Please read a statement from Chief Jen Thomas:

My grandfather, Chief Dan George, reminded Canada whose land this really is.
Our land is unceded. Our title is intact.
The duty to consult us isn’t optional—it’s law, spirit, and sacred obligation.

The Crown has a duty to consult.
Not just checkbox meetings—but real, respectful engagement rooted in our law.
Bill C-5 can’t be another empty promise. If Canada is serious about UNDRIP, consultation starts with consent.

Dredging Burrard Inlet isn’t just a technical process—it risks tearing up sacred clam beds and disturbing the lifeblood of our people.
If it’s even being considered, we must speak.
səlilwət (Burrard Inlet) is not up for grabs.

Archeological evidence shows Tsleil-Waututh ppl mostly fished the male chum salmon this protected future generations of the salmon and our ppl. Indigenous prosperity must take the same approach, provide for the next 7 generations. #vancity #indianriver #burrardinlet #salishsea

Today Canada became weaker.
Bill C-5 gives unchecked powers in a few officials, overrides laws of Parliament, & steamrolls constitutional rights.
Our economy won’t grow by creating conditions of uncertainty & conflict… Our sovereignty is not protected by being anti-democratic.
