USBR RISE Powell data is updated to early 10/26, its quite a bit lower than the USGS instantaneous I posted yesterday. Elevation 10/26 was 3528.66' Powell since 9/15 is up 683,010 AF Vs SEP26 24 month is up 772,673 AF I told you not to trust what I posted yesterday :< Apologies for the misinformation. USGS also revised the San Juan Bluff gage, it has a much higher peak of 41,500 CFS vs 37,300 yesterday. It is dropping now to 24,600. There are two reasons for discrepancy, RISE is somewhat earlier in the day and USGS has two parameters with different coordinate systems, NAVD_1988 and NGVD_1929. I have bathymetry for NAVD_1988 so was using that but it apparently reads substantially higher than USBR RISE. Elevation for NGVD_1929: 10/26 is 3527.9' 10/27 Now is 3529.0' Elevation for NAVD_1988: 10/26 is 3530.8 10/27 Now is 3531.9 I will have to do a bunch more research to use the instantaneous USGS gage. I definitely can't mix the two.
Mr. Brightside's Powell Tracker: San Juan still raging at Bluff: 37,300 CFS Since storms started 9/15: Powell up 809,000 AF Relative to SEP26 Bureau Forecast: Powell up 900,000 AF or 18 years worth of proposed 50,000 AFY Upper Basin fallowing program. Powell about to pass Flaming Gorge's readily available storage. Powell is using USGS instantaneous elevation so is very current. This is new code, so don't trust it :)

Burgum cautioned that the lawsuit could backfire on a state already facing significant cuts to its Colorado River water supply. "The last thing that Arizona should want to do is have a judge decide where the water is going to go” @Interior abc15.com/news/local-news/in…

In @SNWA_H2O APA case the judge just gave @Interior until Dec 10 to file their response to the suit.

Next storm Nov 1-2 looked serious in Pacific but is currently forecast to weaken when it gets to Colorado. Central AZ is currently forecast to get more than us. Forecast is still changing a lot. Powell is over 3530’. Bureau hasn’t released RISE Data I use in my tracker since 10/24, maybe having trouble verifying the data, mass balance inflow looked chaotic over the weekend. I may switch my tracker to USGS which has elevation every 15 minutes, I have to do the bathymetry to get storage myself, it doesn’t match RISE exactly, it’s usually 8,000-10,000 AF different.

We are getting anither wave of small but pretty violent cells at Arriola. Good remote reporting by @jfleck. Farmington Flood. “The gage at Bloomfield blew out late Thursday night, reading 13,100 cubic feet per second (cfs) before it failed. Downstream, the wave blew out the gage at the Bolack Ranch Bridge 7 hours later, running at 17,100 cfs. By the time the USGS gage on the San Juan at Farmington blew out Friday afternoon, the river had risen to ~32,600 cfs, the most water recorded there since the 1930s and more than double the biggest peak since Navajo Dam was completed in the early 1960s.” inkstain.net/2026/10/farming…

Mr. Brightside Powell Tracker Since low 9/15 Powell is up 470,000 AF Versus Bureau SEP26_MIN projection up 553,000 AF Add in Flaming Gorge DROA we've done the 1 MAF Lower Basin demanded :) I technically need to measure FG against APR26 projection for it to be new "but for" water

In the SNWA APA case (D. Nev.), one of the pro hac vice petitions was rejected. It looks like the Arizona attorney signed both as the applicant and on behalf of Arizona seeking her admission—someone else with authority needs to sign for the State of Arizona. There was also a Motion to Extend/Shorten Time. Presumably the Interior defendants are seeking an extension, as the 60-day answer deadline after service is approaching. Haven’t reviewed it yet.

Won’t be seeing today the UCRC contribution program agreement they approved earlier this week. They need one more signature.
UCRC apparently approved an Upper Basin implementation agreement yesterday. Signing may be Friday. Agreement isn’t public yet that I’ve found.

Animas still rising . San Juan in Pagosa may have topped. San Juan at Bluff going straight up again, nearing 20,000 CFS
