Back at it. Snow is mostly gone. Nice day at the moment (and moisture has dropped about 4 points) A bit surprising given how wet it has been
My 8 year old grandson said those wagons look like they’re filled with yellow gold- maybe a bigger Christmas present. I said the price of that gold not too good this year and not much of it and gave him the old cash crop saying. Maybe next year.
It gets a bit boring with Brant usually the lowest yield area in SW Ont in the dry years. On a good note I ran into @MoeChauvin and @CathyChauvin at the Outdoor Farm Show. Have followed them on X for awhile. Had a nice chat- we had the same MF combine for a while
Done a lot of oil changes in my 70+ years. You would think by now I could figure out how to do one without getting some oil on the floor- very irritating. Maybe time to invest in a bigger flat oil drain tank (or get someone else to do it).
Whole different world in Hanoi. Need to hold your beer tight when the train goes by. Around 8 million people (and around the same # of scooters)- bit of a crap show crossing a street.
Seems like every other year parts of Brant is dry at some point. Screenshot is Agricorp rain data on a farm we have north of Paris. 34mm in Aug (little rain here since mid-July) is about 4th lowest in all of Agricorp’s 350ish sites. Soybeans looked great earlier- not so good now
70th anniversary of CKCO Kitchener (have watched the 6 pm news for about 60 years). I miss the @jdavidimrie farm reports. Seems a bit uncertain how much longer Bell Media will keep local news from Kitchener given the recent cuts.
Tapping trees with the family today. I hope we haven’t missed the best part of the sap run. Long term forecast doesn’t look that promising for a good run.
