Yep. When building a world I needed to improve the trees. So I built this tool, to design coastal live oak trees. Two rounds of prompts. Could be made much better!
Nu Global is now live. It brings digital dollars and digital euros into one global account, with yield paid daily. You can transfer money to more than 35 countries in Latin America and Europe without hunting for hidden fees, and use a card that converts automatically. The interface brings it all together while asking as little of you as possible.
Most financial products are built for life in one country. When your life expands across borders, you end up doing the work of connecting them. You’re keeping track of which app does what, when a transfer will arrive, and which fee might show up three days later.
This is the kind of problem I love seeing us take on at Nu. We can make a real difference in the world by understanding what makes managing money difficult and doing the work to make it simpler.
We built Nu Global with deep love for our customers. I’m proud of the care and craft the team put into this work, and I hope you feel it in the details when you use it.
Today's experiment is a small 2D fluid simulator that emulates ink lines on its surface, the way suminagashi (Japanese ink marbling) and ebru (Turkish paper marbling) work. I added color and hand-tracking to this one.
Here's another pattern exploration. It's a tessellation pattern generator. My favorite preset is 'truchet' - it feels the most organic.
Been playing with an app that allows me to explore shaders, three.js, webgl, camera inputs, and other fun frameworks. This is the first of a number of experiments I'll share.
I built a world model and lightly animated parallax construction system to automate the generation of a consistent visual narrative for my personal website. Hope you like it. ethaneismann.com

in hindsight it will be obvious that taste was the differentiator in most tech products and experiences.
as intelligence became ubiquitous, software development (and soon consumer hardware manufacturing) became commoditized, it was the accumulation of small thoughtful decisions, restraints, and authentic stories and brand-signaled quality that made something coveted.
Super excited for scuba.app. Frontier models know the public internet, not what makes your company unique. That's the gap @noah_weiss and @dolapo are closing with Scuba. It captures your company's context and make it a shareable asset. In beta now.
An update folks. A few weeks ago we launch the Nubank app in the United States and introduced Nu Global.
More than 140 million customers already trust Nu across Latin America. It's far less known here in the US, but it's a beloved brand across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia. Our global expansion is one of the reasons I joined Nubank. Brining Nubank's commitment to simplicity, customer love, and craft to a worldwide audience is a powerful and noble mission.
A huge thank you to the teams who’ve spent more than a year making this happen. Thank you for your hard, smart work, and for caring deeply enough about our customers to obsess over the details. That care is what makes the experience feel special and undeniably Nu.

The way Steve taught us to care about every detail, every experience, every person, still guides our work today. Forever grateful.

We are making Markdown files work natively across Google Drive and Docs.
You can now preview .md files in Drive, open them in Docs, edit them, comment on them, and collaborate without converting the file into a Google Doc!
Such generosity from a master of the craft.
I've decided to make my Midjourney account public. 🖤

Wander through the archive, borrow any style that speaks to you, and use the images freely. Midjourney has given me so much joy and taught me more than I ever expected. If my work can spark something in you or help you on your own creative path, that would truly make my day.
I'm also opening up mjpro(dot)ai completely, for free.
To my early subscribers: thank you! You believed in this from the very beginning, and you won't be charged again. If you ever have questions, have concernes or just want to say hi, my inbox is always open.
Happy creating ✨

Velez is one of the best CEOs out there today
This is a great profile about him and the Nubank story
David Vélez is the founder of Nubank, a bank with 140 million customers and a market capitalization of $60 billion.
When he started the business in 2013, no one thought it would work, not even his investors. He has faced down regulators, oligopolies, and corruption to build Latin America's largest digital bank. Now he is bringing Nubank to the United States, where he faces his biggest challenge yet.
@gabi_imarques, who grew up four miles from Nubank's headquarters in Brazil, spent time with @velez_david in São Paulo, where the business started, and in Miami, its latest beachhead.
She profiles a man who is no stranger to a fight, having grown up in Medellín, Colombia, when the city was at war with Pablo Escobar. Six-year-old Vélez would pull on layers of sweaters before stepping outside, hoping, as a child might, that the extra padding would cushion any bullets.

Solid guidance.
We instituted an official AI Writing Policy at @Clay.
Massive thanks to @sophiebits on our engineering team who wrote this.
Originally this was just for eng, but other teams found it so helpful we expanded it company-wide.
Here are the four guiding principles:
1. You must stand behind every idea and sentence
It is your responsibility to make sure that the entire document is representative of your own thoughts before you share it.
2. Writing is thinking
Spending time on the writing process teaches you more about your topic. If you circumvent this process, you will walk away with a poorer understanding of the subject matter.
3. More time should be spent writing a document than consuming it
If you generate a document from a short prompt then ask your readers to go through the longer output, you are disrespecting their time. They can talk to ChatGPT themselves if they want to.
4. Longer is not better
AI makes it easy to generate long docs, and it loves padding them with sentences that say nothing. If you're producing docs from a short prompt, consider just sharing the prompt.
You can read (and borrow) the full policy below. Hopefully we all communicate a bit more clearly now :)
Your frame layout is more like Slack vs Codex especially considering your search orientation. ;)
Small spoiler from what I'm quietly building.. 👀
Tried Codex's new framed layout on it. Not a new idea, but I really like it: the rail, the content held in a frame, and free space on top for search or contextual actions.
It fits tools that need focus, like design tools and AI chats, and it pairs so well with my compact card sidebar.
Pretty sure it's staying!
Would you keep it? 🙏
