Myself and James made this interactive illustration and article together: jsomers.net/e-coli-chemotaxi…
This was a very "on and off again" project but we've finally published! Funny enough, it was while taking a break from this project that I made my Lander game: xitter.cf/ehmorris/status/163248…, with all the canvas knowledge I'd gained.
If you're interested, the code is all here: github.com/ehmorris/ecoli-ch…

Oh my god, this in-browser lunar lander game sucked up way too much of my time last night. ehmorris.com/lander/
The DRUIDS Loupe which is covered in Derek's great post is so valuable
We're proud to be making DRUIDS, the design system that powers @datadoghq, visible to the public. Check out the amazing post on the launch from @derekhowles, and the system itself at druids.datadoghq.com/ datadoghq.com/blog/engineeri…
Ooh, some internal writing I did at Datadog is now public because the style guide has been released! druids.datadoghq.com/pattern…

Quill has been one of the best teams I’ve been lucky to be apart of and I’m proud of what we built.
I however will not be joining Twitter.
That means I’m open to work on any cool Mac or iOS projects you might know of, so please let me know of any!
If you know me you know I love making websites and tinkering with things until they feel right (see: that week spent obsessing over rendering sparkles in CSS, SVG, and canvas and comparing performance in the Glitch editor.)
Datadog is the first place I've worked where I haven't written code and I've found it essential to work with front-end developers who care about the experience. So I'm pumped about this new engineering role solely focused on the end-user experience.

Watch Amy and me talk for like an hour. Seriously though I think it came out great and we cover lots of neat corner cases and some standout new features.
I'm doing a talk next week about the layout engine that we wrote for the new Datadog dashboards. There are lots of little details in it that I'm excited to share with everyone. Free and public! datadogon.datadoghq.com/talk…

If you've never seen this 1876 photo of Lower Manhattan you're in for a treat (keep zooming.) I wanted to point out some of my favorite easter eggs. spacetime.nypl.org/panoramic…
And a shot tower, the same one at right in both photos. They were used to make lead balls by dropping molten lead into water - this was very loud. There were lots of these around in this period. The last one held out on East 53rd until 1920! ephemeralnewyork.wordpress.c…
