straw poll which right wing conspiracy that turned out to be true was most surprising to you? im not actually sure which on my side. called biden senility in 2020, censorship apparatus was basically visible publicly. most of the retarded theories were ofc fake they were definitely turning the frogs gay though. sounds silly but i think i found out about that in like high school
Of all the right wing conspiracies to actually be real, I would have never guessed this one

‼️ BREAKING: The private keys of 8 certificates from Indian certificate authority eMudhra were compromised, Mozilla says. Firefox blocked them within 3 hours. Each key should be a 116-digit number, but one was just 4. Anyone can guess them and forge HTTPS certs for any website.

Post-Trump Diadochi period in the GOP will be an internal ‘Hart-Celler-Off’ competition between Latinos and Indians to determine the aesthetic flavour of the Post-Trump Lusotropical Right. Do you want Trumpism with Hispanic Characteristics or Trumpism with Indian Characteristics?

the women went on to affirm that you'd look great with a pixie cut honey
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper & actress Sophia Bush: if a woman is questioning whether she can do better than her current husband, "the answer is always yes." "This idea that it's too late or you're too old, or who are you to want more, that's patriarchy. That is crazy."

A Secular Age is fine sociology and history of ideas and filled in many of the blanks i was looking to complete unfortunately it is also extremely discursive and i think taylor floundered in his attempt to make a rational defense of belief and the book would have been better without it

its here if you want to read it, be warned that it's a brick his analysis of the decline of traditional religion is extremely thorough i don't think he did well outside of christianity and this is a major weak point. near zero analysis of islam link.amazon/B0ag8VRCW

lol people are mad about this but consider the straussian reading. in fact an entirely different set of people should be upset
Cowen accepts Holmes's guilt on nonviolent Theranos fraud. He says prison is unnecessary given the kids' costs (no mother for years) and favors house arrest plus restitution instead. Broadly he writes that far fewer women—with or without children—should be imprisoned at all, preferring house arrest. The piece centers on women/mothers, not a general rule for all parents.

the problem with acknowledging that you shouldn’t have endorsed strategic lying and now appreciate the error of your ways is that it is not only possible but in fact probable that your mea culpa is itself strategic lying.

i think the lesson is the sexual revolution was fake, or at least it's over, and sex is once more aggressively policed. just in a slightly different manner meet the new boss, same as the old boss

I'm tired of seeing pointless sex trials. In a post sexual revolution world anything short of physical violence should fail de minimis

A Boston jury just ordered a scientist’s accuser to pay him $6 MILLION. For those who haven’t followed the case, here’s what happened. David Sabatini was a prominent MIT researcher running a major lab at the Whitehead Institute. In 2018 he began a sexual relationship with a younger colleague, Kristin Knouse. He says it was consensual and ended when he started seeing someone else. She later claimed it was coercive because of his power over her career, and that he fostered a sexualized lab environment. Whitehead investigated in 2021, found policy violations, and Sabatini resigned. His career was effectively destroyed. He sued her for defamation and interfering with his livelihood, arguing her statements were false. She countersued for sexual harassment. After a three-week trial, the jury (7 women, 6 men) sided with him, awarded the $6 million plus interest, and rejected her claims. Her lawyers say they will appeal. The verdict doesn’t erase Whitehead’s internal findings, but a jury has now concluded the core accusations against him were not true.
