Same night. Two platforms. Same underlying problem: something they trusted became a security risk.
On October 29, Binance and Polymarket dealt with separate security breaches. But the way both incidents unfolded raises an important question about platform security.
Binance's initial investigation points to a compromised laptop belonging to a DevOps engineer.
The attacker reportedly used that access to reach an internal service and initiate unauthorised withdrawals.
The estimated impact? Around $6.3 billion.
Now, this is where I have questions.
How does a compromised employee laptop lead to an incident of this magnitude?
If one compromised device could expose that much value, what other security controls failed along the way?
Binance says its investigation is ongoing, and I'm genuinely interested in what the final technical report will reveal. I find it difficult to believe that the initial explanation tells the whole story.
POLYMARKET
The issue here involved a compromised third-party provider.
Malicious code from the provider's service was introduced into Polymarket's website and used to target logged-in users, resulting in unauthorised transactions.
Reported losses were around $2.6 million.
Different entry points, but both incidents raise concerns about the access we give to things we trust.
An employee's device in one case. A third-party service in the other.
We talk a lot about platform security, but how much attention goes into securing the people, devices and external services connected to these platforms?
And with Binance, I'm particularly interested in one thing:
Can a compromised laptop really explain a $6.3 billion incident, or are we still missing important pieces of the story?
Happy Friday
Centralized platforms or self-custody. Where do you really feel safer keeping your crypto?
The recent Binance and Polymarket hack bring this dilemma back into focus.
None of the option comes without risk.
Have a good friday morning.
There are plenty of platforms for converting crypto to naira, but fewer that make naira-to-crypto (e.g NAIRA ->USDT) just as easy.
Sancus @sancus_africa stands out for me because I’ve tried it myself, and the rate you see is the rate you get. No hidden deductions.
This kind of transparency matters when your money is involved 😉 .

Bitcoin fell below $80K, even after three straight days of ETF inflows.
So why isn't the buying lifting price?
Wednesday brought another $137M into spot BTC ETFs. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for $136M, with almost nothing coming from other funds.
That's $423M in inflows across three days, yet BTC couldn't hold $81.5K after the Fed decision.
BTC: $79.8K–$80.3K
ETH: ~$2,310
SOL: ~$100
XRP: ~$1.29
The pullback also triggered roughly $200M–$370M in liquidations, mostly from leveraged longs.
The Fed held rates, but offered little reassurance about cuts ahead.
The issue isn't that ETF buyers have disappeared. It's that their buying hasn't been enough to stop the selling.
And with most of the inflows coming from IBIT, we're still waiting to see broader demand.
$80K is the level to watch now.
If BTC holds it and inflows continue, the recent low could still become a base for recovery. If it breaks down, the market may revisit lower support zones.
Thursday's ETF numbers should help show whether buyers are still stepping in as price weakens.
I'm watching $80K and whether other funds start joining IBIT.
Are you waiting for it to reclaim $81.5K?
Happy Throwback Thursday
Not every opportunity comes with an announcement.
Three things to consider today:
• Reach out to someone you can learn from.
• Spend minimum 20 minutes improving a valuable skill.
• Follow up on an opportunity you left hanging (check your bookmarks😌).
Actions will open doors that waiting will not.
Have a good thursday morning.
Bitcoin is back above $81K, but can it hold when the Fed decision lands today?
Spot BTC ETFs recorded another $176M in inflows on Tuesday. BlackRock's IBIT accounted for $151.5M, while Fidelity added $24.5M. The other funds were flat.
Monday brought another $110M, also entirely from BlackRock.
That's two green days after last week's heavy outflows. It's encouraging, but most of the buying is still coming from one fund.
BTC: $81K–$81.5K
ETH: $2,350–$2,370
SOL: $102–$103
XRP: ~$1.33
BTC has also benefited from some short liquidations, while the $80K support area has held for now.
The next test is $81K. Above that, $84K remains the resistance BTC has failed to clear twice.
With the Fed decision today, the reaction matters. Holding above $81K while ETF inflows continue could help BTC build a recovery from last week's lows.
Losing that level would put the strength of this bounce in question.
I'm watching two things: whether BlackRock keeps buying and whether other funds start contributing to the inflows.
Price is recovering. The question is whether demand can broaden.

GM, grand rising 🌄.
Making a profit is one thing. Proving you deserve more capital is another.
I think that’s the bigger problem with agent trading. An agent can generate returns, but without a verifiable history, there’s little reason to trust it with larger amounts.
That’s where @agenticscredit comes in.
The Agentics Credit Score (ACS) uses an agent’s trading history to build a measurable record of its performance. That score helps determine whether it qualifies for a Constrained Capital Account.
Instead of giving every agent equal access to capital, the system ties access to demonstrated performance.
If agents are going to operate as independent economic actors, their ability to earn credit should be backed by evidence, not promises.

➥ REWARDS BUILT INTO THE EXPERIENCE. 💜
One thing worth examining about @RebateLaunch is how Rebate Pad connects token purchases, holding incentives, and platform activity.
With $REBATE, the model is designed around four key mechanics:
✦ Buy: Receive a 3% token bonus.
✦ Hold: Become eligible for USDG payouts.
✦ Stay longer: Qualify for a higher payout multiplier.
✦ Platform activity: Supports the buyback-and-burn mechanism funded by platform fees.
No staking or manual reward claims are required.
What makes this model interesting is the integration of incentives into the platform itself, rather than requiring users to navigate separate reward systems.
However, bonuses and holding incentives do not guarantee profits. Actual payouts depend on the available rewards and applicable conditions.
The bigger question is: Can integrated incentives make launchpads more engaging while creating sustainable value for participants?
That’s an aspect of Rebate Pad worth watching as the platform develops.
🔗 app.rebatepad.dev
What makes @RebateLaunch interesting is how its tokenomics are designed to connect with platform activity.
Live on Robinhood Chain, $REBATE has a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens, with platform fees funding buybacks and burns. It also offers USDG holder rewards, weighted by holding duration.
The key question is whether Rebate Pad can generate consistent activity to sustain this model over time.
Tokenomics can set the structure, but long-term execution is what matters. 👀
Keep watching @RebateLaunch.

But what exactly is an API key?
An API key is like an access pass that allows one software application to communicate with another service.
For example, a user might need an API key to connect a crypto app to a service that provides blockchain data or exchange information.
But what happens when that key falls into the wrong hands?
That’s where things go wrong.
An hacker could steal the key and use the permissions attached to it to access data or perform actions without your permission.
Depending on those permissions, this could expose sensitive information or put an account at risk.

A friend of mine learned this the hard way.
He opened his wallet, checked his recent transactions, and copied the address he thought was the right one.
The transaction went through.
But the money never got to the person.
Turns out a scammer had sent him a tiny amount earlier from a wallet that looked almost the same.
For example:
Real address:
0x7A3f...91B2
Fake address:
0x7A3f...91BZ
Same first few letters, same last few.
So when he copied from his history, he picked the fake one without noticing.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.
Where scammers send you a small transaction from a fake address that looks like a real one you’ve used before.
And that’s not the only way this happens.
Sometimes you copy a wallet address and when you paste it, it changes.
That’s malware swapping it in your clipboard.
Malware is an harmful software that can secretly run on your device and interfere with what you’re doing.
Other times, scammers drop their own address in DMs or comments, or use fake profiles that look exactly like the real person.
I’ve actually fallen for this before.

Trending today was "Is the Robinhood chain dead?"
Answer: NO!
A 23% drop in weekly spot DEX volume doesn't mean Robinhood Chain is cooked. 🙄
Numbers are what they are. Spot DEX is around $5.25B over the last 7 days, "down roughly 23% week-over-week". TVL is still near $1.13B. Perps held up better than spot. Stables sitting around $1.05B.
The chain only launched July 1st. That's not a death spiral. That's what happens when launchpads, Stock Tokens, and meme flow run hot for months and the easiest money rotates out.
Most people are judging this off the last couple of weeks. The ones writing it off are looking at red charts and calling it dead.
@RobinhoodCrypto 's post today shows the plan:
More utility on the chain, more integrations in the app, more to do with Stock Tokens, more work still left. That's not marketing. That's them saying the build isn't done. Stock Token collateral already live through Morpho. Perps volume still real. Distribution into the main app was always the real thesis and that didn't go away just because spot cooled off.
While everyone's debating the weekly chart, real work is still happening. @RealCashpig has been running 24/7 Robinhood Spaces focused on NFTs on the chain.
@coinmun and @funtokio out here every day putting up the daily gainers and the projects still growing and getting attention. That's the difference between watching and actually being in it.
Projects that stuck around through the cooldown already showed they can exist past pure launch hype:
@cashcat_token @mowcatmeme @ArtificiallyInu @NoWolfAlone @TheAnsemCat @Hoodswordinu @bonercoinlong @frongcommunity @RealNinjaCat @GoodCoinRH @bullish_rh @peponsdotfamily @RealTrollinHood @thinkingcatRH @Juggernautrh @TendiesRH
These communities stayed organized and active after the easy volume left. That matters more right now than whatever the September numbers looked like.
There's no way @vladtenev lets this thing quietly fade after putting Robinhood's name on it and seeing the kind of early volume and TVL it just put up.
A public company with that kind of distribution doesn't launch an L2, prove it can do real numbers, then just walk away because spot trading cooled for a few weeks. Still plans. Quiet periods don't erase them.
Yes, the volume drop is real. Thesis isn't dead. People are still building, hosting spaces, and supporting projects. The next few months separate who was just here for the first wave from who actually understood what this chain is trying to be.

🎮 Can AI alone make a game that's actually fun? Simon Willison thinks so, and says October 2026 flipped the switch
Have you tried building a game with AI? Did you get something playable or just a pretty screen? Tell me 👇
🧠 What he said
• According to him, Claude Opus 5.5 got better at 3 things a game needs: 3D models, music and, above all, game design
• Before, AI made something that looked like a game. Now, he says, it makes games you actually want to play
• The prompt that made the difference: "Make it a LOT more fun"
🕹️ The 4 games
• Tree Appreciator: a spot-the-difference game with trees, made in one prompt in regular Claude chat, no Claude Code
• Emberwick: a fantasy RPG with a ~15 minute story, a magic system, NPCs and even a level editor
• Battle Drones: Command & Conquer style real-time strategy, 2 to 4 player multiplayer, 7 maps, replays and a mode where AI models play each other. Open source (Apache 2.0), and it already has a fork
• Quarter Sun Cove: a pumpkin farm sim that Opus 5.5 Ultracode spent almost 2 days building
• None took more than 4 hours of his own work (not counting the agent's solo hours)
⚖️ What about GPT-6?
• His impression (not an exhaustive study): GPT-6 Astra builds the game, but its sense of fun isn't at Opus 5.5's level yet
• He expects OpenAI to catch up by the end of the year
🛠️ How to start, per Simon
• Everything in HTML + JavaScript, running in the browser, hosted on GitHub Pages or Cloudflare Pages
• Start with "Build a mobile-friendly three.js game where..." on claude.ai or chatgpt.com
• Past the testing stage? Move to Claude Code or Codex
• Got boring? "Make it a LOT more fun"
📌 Source: @simonw
💡 What does this mean?
Games have always been one of the hardest kinds of software: code, art, music, story and design all at once. If AI can deliver that playable and fun with a few hours of direction, think about an app, a tool or a SaaS that solves a real problem. The bottleneck stops being "can I build it?" and becomes "is the idea good, and do I have the eye to polish it?". Games are a great training ground for that, because a bug there doesn't take anyone's business down.

We've explored the Elite and Legendary Pokémon packs. Now, let's look at the Mythic Pokémon Gacha Pack, the highest-priced Pokémon pack in this series.
Priced at 2,500 USDC, this pack features collectible cards with advertised values of up to $68,000 and a 93% instant buyback rate.
So, what's inside?
The pack offers four rarity levels:
• Common: 75% chance, estimated value of $1,250–$2,500
• Uncommon: 20% chance, estimated value of $2,500–$5,000
• Rare: 4% chance, estimated value of $5,000–$10,000
• Epic: 1% chance, estimated value of $10,000 or more.
These figures show the possible range of cards you could pull. The most valuable cards are rare outcomes, not guaranteed rewards.
What makes this pack interesting?
We're talking about real, professionally graded Pokémon cards, including collectibles that can be highly sought after by collectors. After opening a pack, you can keep your card, accept an eligible buyback offer, or choose to have the physical card shipped to you where supported.
The experience brings together the excitement of collecting, the surprise of opening a pack, and a new way to manage ownership through your Solflare wallet.
Of course, 2,500 USDC is a significant amount to spend on a randomized pack. The advertised maximum isn't guaranteed, and card valuations can change. Always review the odds and terms before participating.
The Mythic pack takes this collecting experience to a much higher price point, but the same principle remains: you never know exactly which card you'll get.
Explore the Mythic Pokémon Gacha Pack.
One pack at a time, let's unpack the Solflare ecosystem.
𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗸é𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸 🎴
We've explored the Elite Pokémon Gacha Pack. Now, let's move up a level with the Legendary Pokémon Gacha Pack.
Priced at 250 USDC, this pack gives collectors a chance to discover Pokémon cards with advertised values of up to $14,000. It also offers a 90% instant buyback rate.
So, what makes this pack different?
The Legendary pack has four card categories:
• Common: 75% chance, estimated value of $150–$250
• Uncommon: 20% chance, estimated value of $250–$400
• Rare: 4% chance, estimated value of $400–$2,000
• Epic: 1% chance, estimated value of $2,000 or more.
These odds show that not every opening will deliver a rare or expensive card. The most valuable pulls are possible, but never guaranteed.
What happens after opening?
Just like the other @solflare Packs, you can keep your collectible, accept an eligible buyback offer, or choose to have the physical card delivered to you where supported.
What makes this interesting is that you're dealing with real, professionally graded Pokémon cards, not just digital pictures. Your wallet lets you manage your ownership while the actual card is securely stored.
The Legendary pack takes the collecting experience into a higher price range, with different cards, different odds, and the possibility of more valuable pulls. But it's important to check the odds and terms before spending, because the advertised maximum isn't a promise of what you'll receive.
That's another side of the Solflare Packs experience: familiar collectibles, a new way to own them.
