A lot of deeply unserious stuff happens in Nebraska politics but stoking fear that Nebraska is somehow going to become NY or CA is truly ridiculous.
Great news - you can now get your detailed threads in two places on this site.
Oh hey, that's me in the local paper!
I've got an extensive background working on a lot of legislation with you all at the Capitol, and all of those bills are to make life better for all Nebraskans.
Let's get into it. 🧶

We know ICE isn't going after "criminals" so I don't want to hear it. They're going after our neighbors, after hardworking Nebraskans trying to support their families.

In the presser to sign the amended LB89 into law, Pillen did the following:
1) said we shouldn't "think through every hypothetical situation" when we pass laws even though laws are serious things and
2) advocated for vigilante violence against trans youth.
Shameful. Disgusting.
Does not matter if you say "Never had a thought about promoting violence" when your words actually do that.
Well Nebraska - today is the end of the 2025 Legislative Session, an historic one for a lot of the wrong reasons.
The saga of LB258, overturning the will of the voters on minimum wage increases, continues.
Today, they are trying to attach it to Sorrentino's LB265 (the least he could do after missing the vote on Final Reading).
Some other bills on the agenda they could attach it to for funsies-
LB217 says "employees" so - germane.
LB454 says "change" and both wages and change are money so - germane.
LB530 says "limits" and LB258 limits min wage so - germane.
Lots of options when nothing matters.
