ALT This is a flyer of the desiring, autism and neurodivergence symposium being held at Queen’s University July 23-25, 2024. The Re•Storying Autism project is bringing together scholars, students, artists and advocates to unsettle ableist colonialist research and to rethink policy and practice through intersectional, decolonial and arts-based approaches. Featured keynotes include Nicole Ineese-Nash Vanessa Dion Fletcher, Grant Bruno, Dorothy, Taare Smith and Jacqui Getfield. Activities include panels roundtables, a student knowledge exchange, beadwork as decolonizing autism, a film screening and more. Join us to transform deficit mindsets in education about neurudivergence, promote affirming, participatory, educational research, advance decolonial and intersectional approaches in disabilities studies, critical autism studies, and more, and share knowledge through the arts to build networks and drive change.
