3 predictions: 1) In < 2 years most code will be written in Lean4 or equivalent 2) The final binary will be faster than Rust or C 3) Compiler architecture will change, with builtin intelligence and drastically more aggressive optimizations

All the inference going on will shorten the lifespan of our home lab GPUs. I think about that a lot. It's time to prepare for a future where GPU cost is simply out of reach for the normal person and that our entire infra needs to have the baseline of human operability.

Today we are happy to share one of our first open research releases: Latent Sparse Attention (LSA), a step towards subquadratic attention that matches accuracy of full attention at ultra-long context. Sparse attention attends to only a few tokens per query, but it has to find the right ones. At 10M tokens, that search takes 98% of the attention layer's time. LSA makes sparse attention up to 22.7× faster and full attention 72.4x faster. Pergunta sincera pra quem manja de segurança cibernética: Nenhum banco foi hackeado em 2026. Enquanto em cripto... Binance, Polymarket, Mercado Bitcoin, Liquid e várias outras plataformas. Por que isso?

Did some quick math today. 1. A $14,000 RTX 6000 Pro rents for $3.39/hr. 2. That is $29,696.40 per year. 3. The average adult globally makes $23,000 a year (adjusted for purchasing power). We just crossed a crazy line where one graphics card has higher economic value than a human being.

This argument is incredibly short sighted. The AI will maintain any software it develops for users, 24/7. But apps mostly won't be a thing, intelligence will be. Your AI will figure out the best goals for you, optimise for them, and if and only if it determines developing a personalised app for you would be useful, it will do that. But most of these apps will be ephemeral, built around user intent / goals on the fly. Apps are a subset of intelligence. Software as a service is dead. Intelligence as a Commodity (Iaac) is just beginning.
Calling it now. AI is going to usher in a whole new era of software development. I’m calling it Software as a Service. People will want to use these tools but they’ll realize they don’t want to spend the time to maintain and update them over time. This will create a whole new category of businesses and entrepreneurs that can take on that task for businesses that would rather work on their core products. AI is changing everything. This is a whole new paradigm of thinking about the way we interact with software.

Has there ever been a time in human history when the rulers of a people have allowed foreign, illegal, military aged male invaders into their lands, housed them up and down the country in close proximity to the native population in every city and town, and then even after those invaders have raped, murdered, abused and stolen from the native population the rulers have given them lenient sentences and allowed them to remain on the land, while the native population that tries to fight back is treated as the real danger and gets completely hammered by the state? Has this ever happened before? Because this sure as fuck sounds like a trojan horse to me.

The fact that the PS5 is able to run PS2 games this entire time, and Sony just never bothered to make that an option is wild. Truly a greedy ass company that deserves all the negativity thrown at it.

Now I know many people who are sick and disabled need benefits and I'm happy for my taxes to help these genuinely unwell people. Forever if needs be. But: A few doors down from me a house has just been rented to a single young woman with a tiny toddler - she doesn't work. I know because I've heard her loudly chatting in her garden to a neighbour. She's (I'm sorry to say) the size of about 3 normal people. So not short of food. And she has 2 cats. Which need feeding. From her benefits. Yesterday a broadband van was outside her house, wiring it up for internet. Today she's in the garden moaning, loudly again, there's no space for her tumble dryer and dishwasher. (Neither of which I have btw). Now the rent for this house was advertised on Rightmove as £975 a month. The landlord is quite happy to have someone on benefits as a tenant as it's pretty much guaranteed income. I know I'll get abuse from some people for this post but I'm not talking about genuinely sick and disabled people. I'm talking about a young woman who, from what I've seen so far running in and out of her house, is quite capable of getting a job as there's free childcare hours available nowadays and a nursery with vacancies in the next village. So why are we paying her benefits AND nearly a grand a month in rent? There's a bus service in my village to Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham, Ipswich and Leiston, all towns with job vacancies. The Co-op in Woodbridge is desperate for staff. And something else. She used to live in a rented flat in this village that was half that sum in monthly rent but she wanted something nicer. Don't we all. But some of us had to work for it. And all this is being bragged about to her neighbour which I can hear while I'm pottering in my garden. Blood boiling. Rant over.
