Rwanda is making progress towards adding nuclear power to its energy mix. An IAEA Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) mission recently visited Rwanda to assess the country’s progress in developing the infrastructure needed for a safe, secure and sustainable nuclear power programme.
Rwanda aims to have nuclear power supply 60–70% of its energy mix, with its first SMR expected to be operational in the early 2030s.
The mission’s recommendations will help Rwanda further strengthen its nuclear infrastructure and advance its readiness to introduce nuclear power in line with international safety standards and global best practices.

Can the world—can the international community—pretend they didn’t know? That they didn’t see this coming?
This is exactly the FDLR genocidal ideology that has long been downplayed, relativized, and dismissed despite repeated warnings.
Today, it is no longer hidden. It is spoken officially and openly , on national television.
The spokesperson of the Congolese army (FARDC) echoed on RTNC the first of the “Ten Hutu Commandments” published by the extremist Rwandan newspaper Kangura in 1990—in preparation of the Genocide against the Tutsi.
Public calls to dehumanize Tutsi as “cockroach” and to “eliminate the virus before it spreads” are not rhetoric.
They are early-warning signs.
They are genocide preparation, copy-pasted.
This constitutes a serious threat to regional peace and to #Rwanda in particular, which will never allow a repetition of its tragic history.
R2P is not only about reacting after mass atrocities.
R2P also means Responsibility to Prevent.
The warning signs are there.
The language is there.
The history is known.
Wake up, world. 🤦🏾♀️

What a time to be #Rwandan.
Rwandas success story reminds me of the
Concept of survival of the fittest :
“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion, or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle—when the sun comes you'd better be running".
While it must have seemed that we are destined to remain a hopeless basket case forever, 30yrs later, Rwanda decided to hit the ground running and here we are,

#Kabila’s arrival in Goma isn’t a nostalgic homecoming, it’s a power play. This is the man who made #Tshisekedi president. He handed him power through a backroom deal brokered with @CNangaa . Now both kingmakers have returned, shoulder to shoulder, not to support the regime, but to bury it, as #Tshisekedi’s rule drives the #DRC deeper into crisis.

🧵2/10 Among the captured were fighters from the tropical Nazis from FDLR—a genocidal militia responsible for the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Now, guess who armed and deployed them? Mabundi Fatshi’s regime. The so-called “President” is openly collaborating with genocidaires. This is state-sponsored terror. While the world looks away, Fatshi is resurrecting old demons to massacre Congolese civilians. And when M23/AFC stops the slaughter? The regime screams “aggression.” No, this is not aggression. This is cleanup. Kanyuka said it best: “We stopped the massacres.” Fatshi lit the fire. The ARC extinguished it.

On May 10, 2025, the Congolese Revolutionary Army (ARC), The Congolese political-military movement M23/AFC’s armed wing, paraded captured fighters from FARDC, Wazalendo militias, and the tropical Nazis from FDLR. This wasn’t war propaganda—it was a mirror held up to the rotting face of Mabundi Fatshi’s regime. These captured men aren’t just foot soldiers. They are proof that Tshisekedi’s dictatorship is willing to fuel genocide to stay in power. While he posed in Doha as a peacemaker, his death squads were terrorizing Kivu.
