It's been a while since we posted anything on the entgo.io blog - but happy to share our latest one by @_rtam
Learn how to build RAG systems in Go with Ent, Atlas, and pgvector.

Over the past few months, one of the most requested features we've received was support for sorting by edges in our GraphQL integration. The @ariga_io team chose to open-source and contribute their implementation to Ent!
Feel free to check it out and share your feedback with us!
After two months of silence, we're thrilled to announce that the latest version of Ent now includes a type-safe API enabling ordering by fields and edges.
The cherry on top? This API will soon be available in our GraphQL integration too!
Wishing everyone a happy holiday! ❤️
Great news! You can now visualize your Ent schema as an ERD with one command:
go run -mod=mod ariga.io/entviz ./ent/schema

It's the most wonderful time of the year and we have a special gift for all our Ent users: the ability to store column comments in your database! Make your database more organized and your DBAs happier this holiday season 😀
Thanks, chenghonour, for your contribution!
We're excited to announce the arrival of Query Interceptors to Ent!
This new API enables you to easily integrate features such as logging, tracing, caching, and even implementing soft deletion with 20 lines of code!

Planned downtime? Modern applications are expected to be always on.
Teams are basically expected to know how to change a tire while still driving.
In this post, @LubinRonen shows how to use Ent and Atlas to change a column's type with zero downtime:

We added initial support for data migrations in Ent, and it's quite exciting. This is merely the beginning, and you can expect major improvements in this area, both in Ent and Atlas.

Before #golang generics, there was no way to write functions that could work on different query builders. Because regular interfaces cannot be defined for chainable methods. e.g. "func(*Q) Limit(int) *Q".
Here's another example like the one shared by @entgo_io, but for queries.
Using #golang Generics with Ent.
Generics can help maintain a more concise codebase by allowing users to define parameterized functions that operate on multiple schema types.
See example 👇
With support from the Atlas migration engine, #postgresql users can now define "Covering Indexes" in their Ent schema to boost query performance in some cases.
When should you use them? Read the guide:

Thanks for suggesting this feature, @ivandev
