Or just go back to how we had it and let parents be parents.
Government is far too involved in our day to day and the newest lot of legislation going through the house takes away more freedom and privacy.
Labor has to go.
Clueless out of touch CEO with a terrible platform.
No one forces devs & publishers to use steam, they aren't forced to be exclusive to steam and yet they still don't pick Epic.
Epic has a terrible platform and needs to look within before throwing stones from a glass house.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says Valve "has held gaming back for years."
Sweeney was replying to Kiaran Ritchie, a former principal animation programmer at Epic, who criticized Steam's 30% cut and said "You could vibe code a Steam alternative in a week." Sweeney wrote that Valve locks developers' PC games into "Steamworks' social walled garden where players can't talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores."
A community note was added saying many games use Steamworks only for authentication to allow crossplay and handle the rest themselves. Sweeney called the note "fake," saying Steam Datagram Relay "isn't related to the things I cited: social, and players talking to each other across platforms."

If you could vibe code steam in a week why does epic games still suck years later?
It's really sad that the games industry is drained by a 30% tax on gross revenue.
You could vibe code a Steam alternative in a week. Cloudflare egress is basically free.
The industry is in desperate need of a distribution platform that allows developers to keep their revenue.
Networks effects and the fanatic obsession with "muh Steam library" will make this very difficul.
But if devs could actually keep their earnings, we'd have a greater selection of better games and far more financial success stories.
