Years ago when E-Mu released the Proteus VX software synth for free, the orchestral patches inspired this frenetic piece in 7/4. It happened over three days, in a blur of feverish piano roll scoring, one thing leading to another until the sudden end.
As to how .. got no clue. 😃

as an alternative to being driven to distortion, you could as well just go ahead and *be* the reference track 😎
Repoasting this from the old account because a) the content™️ must flow, and b) it remains unassailably true.
In my unassailable opinion, Mancini is one of the best composers of all time.
Yes I know it's "was" but OGs get present tense pass.

We're used to it now, but over the span of ninety years, electronics have turned the guitar into an astonishingly versatile instrument.

My last high school stint was rural. Dirt roads rural. Tiny, maybe sixteen kids total in the senior class, but we had a truly remarkable music teacher.
She loved music and loved teaching it, always encouraging us to explore and expand.
Thanks to her, I had the unforgettable experience of scoring "When I'm Sixty Four" for the saxophone section of the school band — one tenor (me), two altos, and a baritone.
Worked out all the parts on guitar, and stayed with the original melody throughout, but peppered it with some, shall we say, adventurous? rebellious? .. harmonies.😬
The talent show performance went pretty well. Okay, there were a few honks (the altos were freshmen), but we made it through. To polite applause. 😃 Teacher LOVED it.
God that was fun. Thank you, Billie 🫡

Walking at night through an old industrial park.
Big trees. The cicadas are going strong.
Listening closer: passing parking lot and building configurations generate evolving phase shifts and local reverberation.
It is an everchanging aural sea.
Active circuitry does require a bit of attention.
The difference between 8.7 volts and 9.2 volts in the Hohner is the difference between a nice hard bite, and HARMONIC SCREAM.
So we bought a 4 pack of rechargeables, and they stay topped off, in perpetuity.

Regardless of skill level, one of the main challenges to really flying free in an improv lies in outrunning habit.

the most irritating thing about being prevented from working on music by unavoidable circumstances is probably, oh ..
BEING @#$%ing PREVENTED FROM WORKING ON MUSIC 🤬
