Guess it’s time to show off the 4R-0D map again in Mississippi! 👀
WLBT: Mississippi House Speaker Jason White has named his appointees to the Mississippi Standing Joint Legislative Committee on Reapportionment and Redistricting.
White said the Joint Committee will explore the best path forward to establish principles for redistricting based on the recent Callais Supreme Court decision.

Oklahoma has two districts below R+22 (OK-01 at R+21 and OK-05 at R+18), and the current map splits Oklahoma County three ways. I fail to see why Oklahoma County needs to be split three ways or why any district needs to be below R+27. This map is the least of Republicans’ problems, but it’s still annoying. I took my first stab at drawing a OK map, though, so take that for what it’s worth!
If it weren’t for Max Miller (R, OH-07) living in deep-blue territory well into Cuyahoga County, Republicans could’ve drawn OH-07 as a deep-red district (Trump +29) rather than the much bluer version (Trump +11) needed to accommodate him. Democrats would’ve loved that tradeoff because it would’ve made OH-13 significantly safer for them, while Republicans weren’t realistically going to win that seat anyway.
Instead we’re left with a scandal-plagued nominee in a swingy seat we’re having to spend a fortune to defend.
How analysts would probably rate these districts for 2026 [vs. current CPR rating]:
1: 🔵 Lean D
2: 🔴 Safe R
3: 🔵 Safe D
4: 🔴 Safe R
5: 🔴 Safe R
6: 🔴 Safe R
7: 🔴 Safe R [🟡 Tossup]
8: 🔴 Safe R
9: 🔴 Likely R [🟡 Tossup]
10: 🔴 Safe R [🔴 Likely R]
11: 🔵 Safe D
12: 🔴 Safe R
13: 🔵 Safe D [🔵 Likely D]
14: 🔴 Safe R
15: 🔴 Safe R [🔴 Likely R]
A fair Washington state map would be 6D-3R-1TU. Republicans won roughly 42% of the statewide congressional vote in 2024 but only hold 2 of 10 seats (20%), with one additional tossup. It’s another example of a nonpartisan commission producing a map that favors Democrats.
Periodic reminder: Wisconsin’s current map isn’t a Republican gerrymander. Democrats just have terrible geography.
If Republicans were actually maximizing their advantage, the map would look more like this brutal 6R–2D gerrymander:
Nebraska Republicans don’t need to switch to winner-take-all, they just need to redistrict.
AXIOS: Maine Democrats say they'll switch to winner-take-all Electoral College votes if Nebraska Republicans do the same. The two states are the only ones that currently split votes by district

This is the strongest possible 3R–1D configuration in Nevada.
All three Republican seats are roughly Trump +9 and voted Republican in the 2020, 2022, and 2024 House races; the 2018, 2022, and 2024 Senate races; the 2018 and 2022 governor’s races; and all three presidential elections.
District breakdowns:
1 (Titus, D): D+2.3 ➡️ D+26.1
2 (Amodei, R): R+14.0 ➡️ R+8.9
3 (Lee, D): R+0.7 ➡️ R+8.7 🔁 FLIP
4 (Horsford, D): D+2.8 ➡️ R+8.9 🔁 FLIP
If Iowa Republicans ditched the county split rules, they could easily draw four reliably red seats (IA-1 might still be Lean R this cycle in particular, but I think it’d ultimately stay in the R column).
This map only splits three counties.
If Republicans ever control the redistricting process in New Mexico, they could lock in a brutal 2R-1D map with both GOP seats remaining in the Lean/Likely R column even in blue wave cycles.
Democrats have weak geography in New Mexico, which is why they had to split so many counties & communities of interest to create their current 3D-0R map.
I drew an “equalmander” of Louisiana just for fun. Every district comes in at exactly R+22.01.
All incumbents are kept in their respective districts.
Updated 6R-0D Kentucky map.
There’s a decent chance that by 2029, 5 of Kentucky’s 6 House members will have first been elected in either 2026 or 2028 if KY redistricts. Guthrie (KY-2) may be the only current member still around, unless Hal Rogers (KY-5) decides to run again at age 91.
That makes my previous 6R-0D Kentucky concept outdated.
This map splits Jefferson County (Louisville) between KY-2, KY-4, and KY-5, moves Guthrie into KY-1, and significantly shores up Lexington-based KY-6. Meanwhile, KY-3 shifts away from Louisville and into central and southeastern Kentucky.
Improved 11R-3D Georgia map. Every Atlanta-area district is R+20 or higher, with the blue-trending GA-3 now the state’s reddest seat at R+24.
I also reworked the four South Georgia districts to all sit at R+15.
This is a rock-solid 11-3 map that should hold comfortably for the GOP through 2030.
The 5-1 Louisiana map keeps getting uglier with these amendments. What are we even doing here? We can safely go 6–0 while keeping incumbents in solidly red seats (by keeping incumbents out of Baton Rouge + New Orleans & allocating those cities to LA-2, LA-5 & LA-6).

Morris has proposed amendments. With the changes, this is what the districts would now look like. The statistics can be found here legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocum… #lalege #lagov
If D+28 Maryland can justify an 8D-0R map for 2026, then R+30 Alabama can absolutely justify going 7R-0D this cycle. Republicans can’t afford to leave winnable seats on the table while Democrats maximize every opportunity they have.
This map keeps every district above Trump +24 while preserving every incumbent’s current seat & respecting county lines.

MARYLAND. Redrawing the congressional districts in a special session to make the state 8-0 Dem for 2026 seems back on the table, including if it takes postponing the primaries set for next month. Senate Pres Bill Ferguson (D), who had been reluctant, now seems on board. notus.org/house/maryland-loo…
