I’m seeing a lot of people on here saying The CPC should learn from the BC Conservatives and shut out “MAGA”, or the “far right”, in order to be successful
But they already do that. I don’t understand the argument. I don’t know how The CPC can make it any more clear they aren’t MAGA. And they are not “far-right”
It would be nice to hear some specific proposals. Is this an issue with leadership? Should The CPC distance themselves more somehow from popular YouTubers? Are certain MPs too outspoken?
Also - Mark Carney is not David Eby. I don’t see how a Lorne Doerkson style party matches up against Carney. I feel like they’d agree on almost everything.
David Eby is more of a Justin Trudeau type. A chill guy contrasts well because Eby & Trudeau are both far left.
Carney is a Globalist. This is his biggest weakness imo if somebody can expose it the right way.
But honestly, maybe the people who want The CPC to be even more moderate are correct. Maybe the Canadian electorate would go for a more chill party like the Doerkson led BC Conservatives.
I would like to know what that looks like then. What should the CPC do? Because to me it seems like they’ve been trying this strategy for the last 2 years.
Will Pierre Poilievre denounce this? Will Lorne Doerkson? She’s talking about conservatives.
This is an ELECTED POLITICIAN. Not some internet edge-lord. I don’t want to be stood against for my “existence”.

Which CPC leader would have a better chance of winning?

59%Copy of Lorne Doerkson

He's also afraid it could negatively impact his current 15-point deficit in the polls. It could go to 16 or 17.
OneBC ran a mediocre campaign imo. But they were in an insanely tough spot.
It's very difficult to convince people they need to skip over the Conservatives, who are more popular, and go all the way to you.
Third party options have a much easier time gaining traction imo when both major political parties have been letting people down. Look at the United Kingdom right now. People are giving "reform" a real look because they have been let down by Labour and Conservatives.
The current Conservative Party of BC has never governed B.C. (maybe some people debate this - but the perception is certainly that they've never been in charge)
If B.C. does not improve in the coming years, then I think OneBC's real opportunity awaits.
But I hope this is not necessary. I hope the Conservative Party of BC is successful and gets B.C. back on track. Even if I don't agree with a bunch of stuff they do - there is so much low hanging fruit to fix in wacko B.C. I wish Lorne Doerkson all the best. B.C. has the potential to be one of the best places on Earth, if not the best.
*I think Jim McMurtry was the positive stand-out of the campaign
Why didn't oneBC get any traction?
Were people just so disgusted with Eby they rallied around Conservatives?
