Taylor Townsend has just made history yet refused to stand in the moment alone.
Two black women in the finals. Two black men in the semi-finals. One black woman (Chanda Rubin) who helped make visibility possible.
That is the power of representation. Seeing how one generation’s courage becomes the next generation’s opportunity. Townsend completed the career Grand Slam, but her words made the moment larger than one trophy.
She honored the trail behind her, the excellence surrounding her, and the possibilities now opening for those watching.

Shouts to the young adults and the kids that didn’t grow up in the 80s and 90s, and still discovering music from that time. Take your time, there’s TONS to go through. This is all of the R&B, Hip-Hop, MTVs Rock, Reggae/Dancehall and House since 1980. It’s an abyss….
The one and only. May he rest with God and the Ancestors. He is sorely missed.
