Here’s what @elonmusk and others keep missing: Russia can end this war by stopping its invasion. Ukraine can’t end it by surrendering without losing its freedom. Telling Ukrainians to stop defending themselves because fighting costs lives rewards the country killing them. If your “solution” demands courage from the invaded and nothing from the invader, that’s peak weakness. And you need to stop pretending to be some alpha

ABC was sure it had a major scoop about Donald Trump Jr.’s alleged influence. But the news outlet's math was wrong and its team was slow to respond—and opaque when it finally did. Unfortunately, this may be a sign of the times. @DylanByers reports: puck.news/inside-abc-news-bo…

Excited to expand our strategic partnership with @PalantirTech through the launch of Regna AI. Together, we see a tremendous opportunity to deliver sovereign, mission-specialized AI capabilities to the U.S. Department of War, allied governments, and enterprises across defense, security, critical infrastructure, and industrial markets. We believe sovereign AI will become foundational to mission-critical operations, and Regna AI is positioned to help lead that transformation.
Ondas and @PalantirTech formed Regna AI to help governments and enterprises deploy mission-specialized fine-tuned AI models in sovereign environments, down to edge hardware in DDIL conditions. Ondas is the first customer, building on SkyWeaver C4I. $ONDS ondas.com/post/ondas-announc…

From the @semafor media newsletter: The message from ABC News that it published last week's story on Trump Jr/Anduril/1789 "prematurely" was misleading. Per emails shared with Semafor, the outlet's editors initially reviewed and stood by the piece.
I'm told the article was "published prematurely." More to come, because that is obviously not a sufficient explanation.

$ONDS on 'CBS 60 Minutes' this Sunday they will profile drones and the domestic (like commercial and civilian venues) 'DRONE DEFENSE' need. I have no idea if Ondas or DroneBuster (from their DZYNE division) will be mentioned; but the overall awareness should increase.

Hey @Disney @abcnews what's the story here?
This is absolutely wild per Status — ABC News completely retracted this story like two days ago just totally nuked it. No note, no explanation , no comment. It had been shared by tons of top lawmakers and democratic officials.

ABC has now posted a corrected version. The “billions in Pentagon contracts” headline is gone. The $6 billion finding is gone. A “major stake” in Anduril is now a $50 million investment in a $2.5 billion round. The editor’s note admits “errors” but doesn’t say which. Still no answer on who approved the original, or why it vanished without a word for two days. abcnews.com/US/new-shipyard-…
Someone at ABC owes the public an answer. “No comment” will not hold. This story might be a little “inside baseball” for those outside media and journalism but it is causing a stir inside the industry. It’s the mystery over ABC News publishing a story on Wednesday morning it which it claimed defense companies backed by the President’s sons have raked in more than $6 billion in active or promised government contracts since those investments were made — and then taking the story down in a day with no explanation. It’s a big deal because the it got a lot of attention when it went live Wednesday. ABC promoted it on X with a graphic: “President Trump’s sons’ investments have won billions in Pentagon contracts since his election.” It was shared by lawmakers and Democratic officials, per CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski. Gavin Newsom put it in front of 900,000 people and wrote that “accountability is coming.” Forbes, citing an anonymous source, reports the story was removed after being “published prematurely.” CNN’s Brian Stelter, who was also told that, called it obviously not a sufficient explanation. Palmer Luckey, whose company Anduril is at the center of the story, claims he contacted ABC after the story went live on Wednesday morning and that he demanded a correction. "After multiple rounds of refusal, they finally make a single one-word grammar edit. The editors stand by the reporting and insist the false claims are true. Finally, eight hours after I was forced to call them out publicly, they delete everything." If that account is accurate, “published prematurely” is hard to square with editors who stood by the story for hours. Luckey also alleges the story was a coordinated influence operation planted by competitors. He has offered no evidence I’ve seen, and I am not repeating that as fact. But take Luckey out of it entirely. ABC still has a problem it cannot solve with silence. Either the story was wrong, in which case readers deserve to be told what was wrong, or it was right, in which case it should not have vanished. ABC can resolve this in one paragraph. The one option that is not acceptable is saying nothing. ABC knows what accountability looks like. In 2017, after a botched Michael Flynn report, it apologized publicly, said the story hadn’t been properly vetted, and suspended their top investigative reporter, Brian Ross, for four weeks without pay. Nobody is asking for that here. What is being asked for is one on-the-record statement. The Trump sons’ business dealings are fair game, and if they profited from government contracts, that is a legitimate story. That is exactly why this matters. A story erased without explanation helps no one, least of all those who say they want real accountability.

The problem with this new explanation (which they are only willing to state privately to their journalist buddies) is that ABC News editors stood by the reporting and refused to change it for a whole day. xitter.cf/PalmerLuckey/status/21…

@ABC News continues to lie, this time privately to their friends in the press. This was a coordinated influence operation planted by our competition, not "premature publication". 7:01 AM October 7th, story goes live. Within minutes, dozens of high-profile commentators, politicians, and news outlets are sharing it with tens of millions of followers. We immediately contact ABC and demand they correct their false claims - after multiple rounds of refusal, they finally make a single one-word grammar edit. The editors stand by the reporting and insist the false claims are true. Finally, eight hours after I was forced to call them out publicly, they delete everything. The editors hide all the comments, the author deletes his X account, and the story is completely wiped from their website without any explanation, directly violating SPJ ethics standards and ABC's own internal rules. ABC is currently running a coverup operation, ignoring all of our requests for correction/retraction while telling their buddies to spread the word that this was nothing more than a CMS publication timeline error.

Palmer, @ABC news also spread repeated lies about us at Powerus in the same story as Anduril and you should know they are at it again. Our team just received this note from one of their producers trying a new angle, 1789 Capital isn’t even an investor in our drone company. If only these outlets told the truth we can all get back to helping Americans with tech needed to protect this country. @PalmerLuckey @ABC
Replying to @ABC
@ABC is refusing to correct this lie. @ByNathanLee's "analysis" is totally bogus, and he knows it, because Anduril provided him with the actual numbers - 1789 Capital has only invested a total of $50M in Anduril, and this so-called "major stake" is about 1/1000th of the company. The claim of $6B+ in "active or promised government contracts" is also a lie. Most of that amount is in hypothetical contract ceilings, which are (by design) larger than the government or the contractor expect to transact. The problem for Nathan and ABC, which they also know, is that a bunch of people, including the Governor, assumed they were telling the truth and acted on it. Admitting they got this wrong would make a legal judgement against them trivially easy. And so they lie.
