Kalpana Mishra was going to become a mother for the first time. She was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for delivery, but during labor, her condition suddenly worsened. She was in severe pain and kept crying, saying, “Please save me… I won’t survive… these people will kill me.” Just 10 minutes later, she died.
Her family alleges that when Kalpana’s condition became serious, the doctor demanded ₹3 lakh. When the family could not pay, a nurse allegedly performed the operation instead of the doctor, leading to Kalpana’s death.
Her family also claims that she was mistreated inside the hospital. Her father said, “Kalpana was my only daughter. We even sold land worth ₹15 lakh for her marriage.”
So far, two nurses have been suspended, but no action has been taken against the doctor accused by the family.
