Consider this:
Nobody really likes Tucker Carlson.
He’s all about himself and has demonstrated that on a daily basis. There’s no rational explanation for his behavior.
The “friendship” is a farce.
Tucker Carlson needs political capital. He needs legitimacy.
He attacks the administration in the most absurd manner in order to get that denouncement and make a headline that extends his message beyond the social media mirage he has created.
Trump ignores him. He will not elevate him and give him relevance with a response.
JD Vance is in the same position.
He minimizes it by calling it a disagreement between friends. We know better and he knows we know better.
He is choosing to expend his own political capital by not giving any to Tucker.
For now.
The time will come when this won’t be the case.
