At @everbility we have been using @tailwindcss to design and build our frontend. It has allowed us to move fast and not worry about the tediousness that can be CSS, especially at our stage.
Yesterday was a living-under-a-rock moment for me.

New year's day was spent getting our systems ready to onboard our first engineer. Nothing like getting through all the required ops stuff in a day. A long day nonetheless.
I find a lot of joy in hammering away at the infrastructure, organising @everbility's digital presence!

As we draw to the end of the year, we are thrilled to share that @everbility has been accepted into the @startmate Accelerator’s Summer’24 cohort!
The overarching mission at Everbility is to change, for the better, how healthcare providers provide healthcare services and how clients navigate the healthcare system. This is fuelled by personal challenges faced by @OT_AngelaM and me and is something very close to our hearts. Working at the inflection point of healthcare and technology excites us every day!
We couldn’t have asked for better partners to take Everbility through the next stage of its growth and are beyond excited to be working with Startmate’s incredible mentors, some of whom we had the pleasure of connecting with recently!
Lots of exciting things to build! Not enough time! Let’s go 🚀

We at @everbility have been heads down, ticking off boxes to get our HIPAA compliance done as we gear up for our “official” US launch. It has been a heads-down jog to the finish line (start line?) as we started this process a couple of weeks ago. Proud that we achieved HIPAA compliance this week. Things that have helped:
- Using an MSP like @TrustVanta will save you months in time and ensure that you are keeping abreast and following all the HIPAA guidelines to the dot.
- If you love reading policies, it will make your job a lot easier. I luckily love this stuff. There are a lot of policies to read.
- Controlling your infrastructure helps a lot. We made the choice at the start not to use a third-party deployment platform, e.g. Heroku, Fly, Render, etc. This was counterintuitively driven by the “need for speed” as I have extensive infra experience, and it was faster for me to run my own infra rather than tackle oddities of the third-party vendors. When implementing the countless controls and procedures that are required by HIPAA (and GDPR, SOC2, etc.), it helps if you can shape your infra to your liking.
- Get your 3rd party contracts done well in advance. For HIPAA, you need a BAA with any third-party vendor that transmits PHI. This usually is a lengthy process, so we started this 3 months ago, a long time before we wanted to start working on HIPAA. Someday, I will tell the story of how we got a BAA with OpenAI 😉
This has been a great exercise as HIPAA forces you to adopt general best practices when it comes to security and infrastructure design. Let me know if you want to chat infra or have any questions.

Last week has been a little crazy at @everbility . Some highlights:
- Moved our infra to a HIPAA-compliant cloud.
- Set up detailed monitoring of our infra. Prometheus, Grafana
- Our app is now much more performant by a big factor. Got rid of a bunch of bottlenecks in our FastAPI backend.
- A bunch of annoying little bug fixes.
- Doubled our paid subscribers.
Coming out on the other side of it feels like I have been living under a rock for 2-3 weeks. Time to go back under again 😉

The video by One Nation about the NDIS is incredibly offensive and so damaging. I've been seeing so much negative propaganda around the #NDIS recently and I've been scared about the damage it might cause.
